CEC Corvette, cargo configuration.

Parts would be pretty cheap since they are everywhere, small crew in the cargo variant, fast- should be able to charge priority rates for cargo. Has a decent self-defense armament, 2 twin turbos, 4 heavy lasers. Easily modified after making some money.

I prefer smaller ships, A YT-2400, star running courier assignments, personal planet hopping, and light cargo runs, maybe even some smuggling of low to mid ranking imperial officer who are being looked for by the new republic (who can pay). Something fast yet not to attention getting. The larger ships would get more attention of major powers, and cost more to maintain.

Another idea I had;

Can I get a Missile boat, complete with plans, but get it around the time the Clone Wars started?

I can imagine that the Republic would pay alot of money for a Starfighter of it's combat capabilities.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

In a galaxy as large as Star Wars, even a Lucrehulk won't get much attention on a galactic level, or even a sector level, except for its Sepperatist affiliations. And you'd probably make a lot more money, provided you have crew to run it.

I like the Lucrehulk idea. But gut any unnecessary space in the ship and convert them into cargo holds (with some to carry people) and use it as a mass freight\people hauler. I'm sure there are plenty of planets that need large quantities of raw materials. :)

Or convert it into a luxury cruise ship. Park it in orbit of a planet, land the Core ship, gather up the customers and then blast off and reconnect with the donut. If necessary do that a couple more times and then go off and show the clients a one week wonders of the galaxy tour.

Got another idea or two but forgot what they were.

List of things to do with a Lucrehulk:
Cargo hauler (duh)
(Luxury) Cruise Ship / Hotel
Gimmick Casino (a variation of the above, yes - modify some Battle Droids to serve as staff.)
Colony Ship
Botanical ship (turn the cargo bay into a set of gardens, maybe a Zoo - not entirely sure how to turn that into a profitable business, though)

... More?

Battleship?;)

On a slightly more serious note, why not convert the thing into a space station? Or, elaborating on the colloney ship angle, use it to transport colonists to a new world, then detach the core ship from the ring, and use the core ship as a coloney habitat while keeping the core in orbit as a (well-armed) space station for your brand new coloney?

Of course, that eliminates the option of using it for anything else, so unless you can sell it to the colonists for a lot or turn that station into a major trading post or something like that, its probably not a good move financially.

Maybe if you set yourself as the leader of the colony?

Just because I think it bares repeating.. The cargo volumn for JUST the donut section on a unmodfied Lucrehulk is:

Length: 3,170 meters
Cargo capacity: 25 million metric tons

Is there someone who can put that STAGGERING amount into some sens of preportion? For instance, exactly how many Nimitz SuperCarriers would that equal?

You could dock other ships inside just from the immense size alone, I actually laughed when I saw someone mention "removing unnecissary equipment to make more space"

Well, it's about fifty fully loaded supertankers.

If that is true then in a civilization as large and varied as is the one in SW, A Lucrehulk would just be a SW version of an interplanetary supertanker?

The Lucrehulk seems a bit overdesigned for that, with the separable core ship, decent shields and weapons (even before conversion) and complex internal structure. It's probably more like an armed fast cargo ship, with onboard cargo handling facilities; the kind of thing you'd use in undeveloped areas. A more typical cargo ship would be something like the Super Transport; similar capacity to the Lucrehulk, but it's just a huge boring slow box that aims to deliver maximum cargo for minimum cost (and can only be used in safe, well developed areas). The supertanker equivalent would probably be the Field Secured Container Vessel; they go up to the size of the Executor, haul hundreds of millions of tonnes of cargo and are extremely slow and unweildy.

I imagine the ST has far lower crew requirements and running costs, too. The Lucrehulk's design is really a reflection of the outer rim situation as of TPM.

Actually, those stats are wrong. Assuming a mean density of water and the given volume of the rings, that should be increased by atleast 100x.
For instance, exactly how many Nimitz SuperCarriers would that equal?
Nimitz is about 100,000 tons fully loaded, TR sub-class.

Well I got my numbers off Wookiepiedeia's entry for a pre-clonewar un-upgraded Lucrehulk Cargoship Its says, for the donut section, "25 million metric tons" If that estimate is off, not sure how to give a good estimate.,

The Lucrehulk tanker has a 66 million cubic meter capacity while still be able to hold 60,000 people in their own staterooms.
