Do you think Thrawns abilities are a joke based on The Art of War?

Thrawn

Post by Keevan_Colton »

In another thred I mentioned a notion that had slipped into my head a while back concerning Thrawn. His amazing strategic and tactical abilites are meant to come from his study of art....does anyone else here think that this might be a joke? Relating mostly to Sun Tzu's The Art of War?

Prehaps, But acutal acroding to Zahn, Thrawn's abilits in general, his whole charater is based on Sun Tzu describition of the perfect General

Prehaps it is a joke on that, prehaps not, But it is fair to say that people buy art not because its pretty normaly, but because it fills some psychological need or want(IE looking and a painting and say hmm thats good, and not know whying)
Knowing why can provided some keen insights

I don't know if I would term it a joke, but it certainly is an homage.

If you cant be invincible, at least make your enemies think you are. But what happens when you begin to buy into it yourself?

The trick is not to.....

I've used the approach myself in a slightly different manner in the SWC in the past....gather some information and then convince people you know everything....very often this can result in them assuming you already know what they are doing which leads to careless slips...which leads to more information which strengthens your reputation....

Thrawn refused to fight when he knew victory was impossible...thus when ever he fought he won....which sets the ball rolling on the reputation....
