Arden Lynn was one of the Emperor's Hands who assisted Grand Admiral Zaarin in his attempted coup'd'etat.

More like borrowed. Some of his concepts like the stepping backwards punch were around in jujisu in medieval Japan.

Do you think that based on the jedi philosophy their martial art should be aikido?

I would think that a jedi master would be so fined tuned in the unarmed arts that he would be able to dispatch a foe with the least amount of effort possible. Hey wait a minute! They'd be doing Aikido then!

Hey, wasn't it in Shadow Hunter that Darth Maul used various classic "Teras Kasi" moves, such as Funny Monkey Business style attacks? Okay, so I'm exaggerating a little (okay, more than a little), but IIRC that seemed to be the general guide to how the author had named Maul's various "Teras Kasi" moves.
