The biggest improvement was the Imperial Fighters. Damn it was a bitch in GB before CC came out. I mean what the fuck were they thinking. The main reason for the TIEs were they were cost effective, plus being easy and quick to build. Yet in GB they took longer than any other and cost more. At-ATs couldnt shoot air units. So now you have a shit load of Rebel Fighters zooming around with only one TIE to fight em off your legion of AT-ATs.

I usually build groups of AA mechs and assign them to guard my armies. That frees up my fighters for escorting my bombers, which take out enemy AA units and turrets, which clears the way for my air cruisers.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Personally i thought Force Commander and GB where huge let downs. I think that the Star Craft Engine would have worked better for a Star Wars RTS. But really if you want to play Star Wars games stick to the Space Sims or JK2. If your really stuck get the New Rebellion Mod for Homeworld.

Ah yes, the ULTIMATE in collateral damage. Press the button and entire enemy bases are wiped from the map.Darth Fanboy wrote:

Thats no moon - Death Star, big splash damage and very ntertaining for use against gungans and ewoks.

You should get the Ladder if you don't already have it. It's just a big room with Reborn and Shadowtroopers in it, and the more you kill, the more spawn to attack you. It's available at this site.weemadando wrote:Yes, I've been getting back into JK2.
Cheating (give force powers etc), turning on realistic saber combat and seeing how many Desann's I can take down at once. My record is 5 in the Nar Shadda bar.

Anyways, I did enjoy Armada 2, but only when I played the Federation campaign.

I personally play as the Republic, build an air force to guard 2 or 3 Air Cruisers. Then I use the AC's to kill off enemy Fortresses and Turrets. Then my army moves in.Robert Treder wrote:I usually build groups of AA mechs and assign them to guard my armies. Air Cruisers are a bitch. If deployed properly they can fuck an enemy over. If things don't fair to well for you, then it's a huge waste.
If I decide I need an Air Cruiser, it's usually when the enemy is hurting. Why? So they can't destroy the bastard easily, and I can mop up heavier installations. Basically I can divert my cost in nova for those slow moving bastards over to AT-ATs and artillary. They hit the smaller armies and any anti air. Not only that, but I have to make sure that I have air superiority. Namely more fighters than the other guy, with the abillity to pump out more faster. So I have either 1 or 2 squadrons of Defenders buzzing the cruiser until it reaches its target. Like I said, if all goes well, then my opponents heavier shielded areas go down hard. Basically take out power cores and mech factories.
I don't know if anyone knows this, but if you let your cockroaches (AT-STs) take on other forces, with about four or five AT-ATs you can level Forts in a minute or less. Like my cousin, figured he'd have a fort or two and be untouchable. Shit, when the AT-ATs broke through the lines, they went down hard. It's useful tactic against fort droppers. People who send in 20 workers and build a fort on top of you, or all over the surrounding area. That loss in ore, which could have been a number of turrets hurts.

On the SWGB note, does anyone know where I can get a CD-Key for SWGB? (I recently wiped my hard drive so I lost it.)
I had a friends copy but he's moved so I can't find him.
