Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds - Favorite Side?

Post by von Neufeld »

Since the subject of SW:Galactic Battleground is discussed, seeing what side people likes best would be intresting.

I like the Empire best myself, with Wookies second and the Trade Fed. third place.
I haven't played the CC sides enough to form my opinion (I'm in the middle of the Confed campaign), but
I would probably rank them quite high, but at least the Confeds should come quite close to Trade Fed. in my opinion.
I'm probably not quite objective about this, because I give the sides with the cool heroes (D. Vader, Han & Chewie, D. Maul and Sev'rance Tann) high points.

I wish I could say the Empire, but the Republic just kicks too much ass.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

The Dark Guard has been and always will be Imperial.

Although it never hurts to turn the clock back some for a few members and use the Federation.

Love it or Hate it every civ has it's strenght and it's weakness. While the Galactic Empire can tear apart a home base with the sheer force of mechs alone, others like the Naboo fall back onto other methods. What exactly, don't ask me, but I've seen people do it, and been on the bitch end of trying to rip apart a home base littered with turbolaser emplacements.

Royal Naboo have it's strong troop types listed as Air & Jedi. It is the only side in the game that doesn't have Mechs and/or Troopers as their strong troop types. So they should probably be the trickiest side to play. (conventional ground troops are the easiest to learn to use well). On the other hand, mechs are very expensive to produce and upgrade compared to other types, so I guess that a Royal Naboo player could get their civ up to strength faster.

But using Jedi as a main part of your strategy is difficult, not to mention those greedy fucking monks take a lot of nova. This leaves the Naboo with strong airpower, a pretty good but ridiculous special unit, and relatively weak ground forces.

On sheer coolness factor i'd have to say the Empire because well who dosen't want to crush their enemies with a Phalanx of AT-AT's???????

The Empire followed closely by the Gungans, I really think those mobile shield thingys are one of the best special units in the game
