Colbert's predictions on new plots

He's been pretty clear that its Stephen Colbert the comedian, not Steven Colbert the Right wing pundit of Comedy Central.

Though I think the old role seems to seep into his performance sometimes.

I definitely noticed this with some of his recent political commentary.

For all the evil the Empire did, they did help keep piracy and other random warlords in check. With them gone, it only makes sens that such groups would resurface. Now imagine that going on for 30-something years, coupled with a fledgling New Republic trying to assert itself, and it seems clear that an a new Imperial faction, with sufficient manpower and material, could swoop in, fight off some raiders here or pirates there, make a favorable impression on the locals, and recruit from them as well. Especially if they operated in the outer rim, and if they managed to sufficiently distance themselves from the more heinous atrocities carried out by the old Empire, they could be very successful.
