If you mean the capital ships in the background, I figured they were Hapan ships, given their resemblance to Battle Dragons. However, I haven't read past the first couple of NJO books, so I have no idea of the backstory in that book.

I think those are Hapan ships, if I remember what I read in that book correctly.

They are Hapan Battle Dragons, one of the more powerful Hapan ships.
