As for LTLs...etc...the point-defense weapons seen blowing up asteroids and the like--I will hence forth refer to as "point-defense cannons." These are, in my experience, what have been refered to as LTLs. However, since they are known as defensive lasers in the AOTC ICS, I'll use that designation for simplicity.

Minor turbolasers, such as the axial turrets (which are clearly visible and larger than any of the tiny point-defense guns that shot from the bow from within the trench at asteroids in ESB) I will refer to simply as "medium turbolasers."

The heavy turrets (such as the topside guns and the quadlaser in the brim trench which actually appears to have larger barrels than the HTLs on the topside) I refer to as "heavy turbolasers."

And by the way--HDS actually isolated a single shot from one of the quad HTLs in the Devestator's chase of the Tantive IV. It depleted the shields and allowed the disabling shot to be fired.

Only the rear most of the four turrets on either side of the superstructure are ion cannon turrets.
