The Twi'lek Jedi seen in AotC, Aalya Secura, was from the EU. She was a comic book character that GL liked.

Bullshit Mr. Poe. Hmm, I'll have to wait until the DVD hits...wait just a damn second. I know! I'll just make up some damned debate about the age of YT1300s and see if Darkstar will post pictures on his page!!! Heh. Actually I just want to see the damned things. Just thought it would be interesting. I would definitely like to see some Corvettes. That would be interesting to have them escorting Acclamators since they supposedly have starfighter defenses.

It's not mentioned in the OT, nor is the fact that the Hutt's are like a huge crime organization, something the OT never implied even.I don't think you can chalk this one up to Eu. We don't know how old Jabba was in RotJ, but it wasn't *that* long. certainly, HJabba would have been alive, unless his species has a avery fast growing cycle.
From watching the OT one might think Jabba = crime lord, but it's actually more like Hutts = Crime lords
They where mentioned, their original source as I said is irrelevant.Except I think both these were not precisely depicted in the EU and both were taken from rumors or interviews with george
The Sith especially where mentioned in that sith book or whatever it was.

You just read the worst stinkers then, comparing the rest of the EU to those is like asking for a stardestroyer to fire on you.Stravo wrote:NO BEAN. Absolutely not. Zahn is the ONLY reason I don't consider the EU total shit. Zahn made me start loving Star Wars again after years of a haitus. It was the flood of shit like Crystal Star and Jedi Academy trilogy that made me turn my nose up to the EU and am proud to say I haven't read a book since.Mr Bean wrote:GASP! Refer not to Zahn doth you Stravo? Least I have to smite you
I am a disciple of Zahn...and don't you forget it!!

Nitpick for you: Work on ROTJ didn't start until 1980, with most starting in 1981. And it was called Had Abbadon.Captain Lennox wrote:THEHOOLIGANJEDI wrote: 5. The way Palpatine went about destroying the Old Republic is also shown in the manner depicted in the EUYes, but the orginial name was New Abbadon, which sort of exists in EU, because Palpatine was slowly moving the Goverment there after Hoth. Coruscant is a totally EU name though.Actually Coruscant wasn't EU, it was a GL concept. Ralph McQuarrie drew pictures of it in the 70's but GL couldn't afford to put them in SW at that time. Although I'm not sure if the name Coruscant is EU, but the concept of a city-planet is all GL. Look at the Illustrated Star Wars Universe.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

DG_Cal_Wright, the YT-1300s were definately in AOTC...

In addition to those saucer-shaped freighters, expanded universe fans might be able to spot a Corellian bulk freighter, the same model as Talon Karrde's Wild Karrde.

Whther or not some EU writer chose to use it, the fact remains these were originally Lucas' concepts. He can hardly be said to have taken it from the EU if the EU took it from him. They where mentioned, their original source as I said is irrelevant.

As I said, it only affirms the EU's reliability since it uses concepts directly from Lucas, I already said this wouldn't be discussed, it onlybogs down the thread, what I wanted was a clean listing of all the events, nothing more, if that is going to be hard to follow I'll get pissed and have some mod delete all deviant posts.Smiling Bandit wrote:Whther or not some EU writer chose to use it, the fact remains these were originally Lucas' concepts. Not that I generally care for such concepts when I have the possbility of suffocating all othersbut my own, it's irrelevant anyhow, this free discussion and such is also known as thread hijacking and irrelevant to my goals for said thread.Stravo wrote:Glad to see that free discussion of ideas is alive and well in your world HDSHis Divine Shadow wrote:As I said, it only affirms the EU's reliability since it uses concepts directly from Lucas, I already said this wouldn't be discussed, it onlybogs down the thread, what I wanted was a clean listing of all the events, nothing more, if that is going to be hard to follow I'll get pissed and have some mod delete all deviant posts.Smiling Bandit wrote: Whther or not some EU writer chose to use it, the fact remains these were originally Lucas' concepts.
