Prequel Games and recent LucasArts games

Just general discussion. Lately it seems as if they've been giving too much attention to the prequels, and both prequel and OT games (with the exception of JK II, Rouge Leader etc) seem to be sucking.

The prequel games are actually not all that bad. Episode I Racer was bad as hell. Now, Jedi Power Battles PSX version sucked unholy hell, while DC version has to be one of my favorite games. (Take that Super Star Wars series. :P ) TPM video game wasn't that good, and the two Starfighter games could be better, but they are very good IMO. I'm ready to find out if Bounty Hunter and Clone Wars live up to thier hype. I don't think it's that bad, but then again, they're having to make some things up as they go, and it doesn't seem like they have time for enough thought to go into them.

I wish Lucasarts would release a new space combat sim, and I don't mean the arcade style, 3rd person, console games I want a really good game along the lines of the X-wing vs Tie Fighter series, where you have to manage power supplies for your ship and command your wingmates requiring you to actually think as opposed to blasting everything insight (which although fun, gets old, fast) and designed to shown in disgustingly high detail that challenges even the highest spec machines to keep the action smooth.

However most importantly I would want this game to be canon, and use as far as possible vehicles from the movies or at the very least well established vehicles taken from the EU (such as the Tie Defender).[/i]

Battle for Naboo is a damned good game as well. I love wreaking havoc in my AAT.

No offense, but Battle for Naboo had to be the most god awful game ever. It looked gorgous, I'll give you that. But damn, did it suck. If they had put that damn Naboo Bomber in Rogue Squadron or Rogue Leader, I'd be doing donughts over the ISD, but in BfN it just fucking like, didn't do shit. That game should be put in the landfill with the copies of ET. BTW, I beat it in less than five hours. Had time to go BACK to the store and trade it in.

I can't tell you how unhappy I'm going to be if this next batch of awesome looking SW games (Clone War, Bounty Hunter, Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic) are indeed overhyped. Clone War in particular looks quite intriguing, plus it should (hopefully) expand on our knowledge of the Clone Wars.
