Some Help with my Imperial Starfleet OB

As stated before in a previous post I am currently doing a complete Order of battle for the Imperial Starfleet, using some sources and a little speculation.

First I have the Starfleet separated between the Navy, and the sector defence fleets, I am using the 25k ISD number for the amount in the Navy, where they take on the roles of Escort as seen in the films. There is more in the sector fleets where they take on the roles of battleships and command ships. In justifying the none dagger ships in EU sources I have these as the warships in the sector fleets, these being cheaper and quicker to produce then the pure dagger shaped warships that I have as part of the navy. So we have the none dagger imperial era designed ships such as the strike cruisers and the republic era ships such as the dreadnoughts and carracks being part of the sector fleets, it is a fair bet that the empire was planning to replace all the republic era ships with imperial designed ships, this could be due to the republic ships being very old, since the republic was in a fair state of peace. In my OB’s instead of having all these ships replace I have them being moved further out into the outer regions of the galaxy as more of the imperial era ships come into service and the empire expands. For example I have at the time of the prequels only republic ships (obviously) in sector fleets a total of around 1028 (number of pods in the senate chamber in EpI) at to the edge of the mid rim, with maybe a few sectors in the outer rim.

By the time of EpIV, which around 30 or so years after EpI and around 20 or so years into the empires reign, the empire being militaristic and expansionist have expanded this to around 1310 sectors (speculation on my part) and further into the outer rim. Having expanded both territory and military I have them doubling the size of the Starfleet, with the sector fleets getting bigger all the old republic ships have now been pushed further out in the rim because the new imperial designed ships are better so they are now defending all sectors from the core to the colonies and the republic ships defend from the inner rim to the sectors in the outer rim. Now I heard on these boards that the Empire doubled its military forces between EpIV and EpV, so going by this I have yet again the empire expanding its borders to include 1590 sectors (again speculation on my part) effectively covering the entire outer rim territories, and again increasing the size of sector fleets. Now the sector fleets which have the republic era ships have again been pushed further out to only defend the Mid and outer rims (still with roughly the same amount of ships that the republic had) the rest of the territories, Core, Colonies, Inner, Expansion regions have all imperial era ships defending them. The imperial ships outnumber the republic ships about 3 to 1 but also cover more space.

Now with the imperial era ships being bought into service would there be a need for the empire to build new designs of such ships as supply ships, medical ships mobile shipyards (Deepdocks as the known as in the Imperial Sourcebooks) or any support ships or would they just carry on building republic era designs, would it be viable, or make any difference in there performance compared to the difference in performance in the warships.
