Length of the Coral vanda

Post by Ender »

Anyone know it? I need it to generate a third data plot for the Turbolaser classification project. It should have been published in the Dark Force Rising Sourcebook.

Thanks

Right then, I poked around and found a site of fan models giving a length of 110 meters. I'm going to use that for now.

I have been able to come to a conclusion though: After calculating ranges for the targeting of the Rebel Base on Hoth, Solo hitting a TIE in the Death Star trench, and the bombardment of the Coral Vanda it had to be able to target it to then shoot sufficiently away from it so not to kill it) I have tenatively graphed and determined the following.

x = barrel lenght
y = range in KM

range = square root of (((target area in KM)/(10^(x*function)))/(4*pi))

Thus a standard target must be established to serve as the target area. I suggest an ISD myself, but I figure somepeople might argue for using an ellipse say 642 meters long and 410 meters wide as a benchmark target.

Function still to be determined, and cannot be until I get a true value for the lenght of the Vanda and figure out how to make excel do a proper graph.
