Birth Control

Post by YT300000 »

Is birth control mentioned anywhere in SW? I know abortions are, in whichever NJO book Mara finds out she's pregnant in.

As far as I know, no, but that obviously doesn't mean that they don't have any.

I doubt that for the most part, they don't do anything fancy. For most, they probably use things like condoms and birth control pills, just made of more effective materials and being more effective and with less side effects, respectively.

How could a space faring civilization that's tens of thousands of years more advanced than we are not have any?

They do have the technology for an artificial womb, in regard to reproductive technological sophistication; it would be less sophisticated than a cloning vat, which they clearly can do. In liklihood such options balance out the availability of birth control in terms of the population size.
