Most touching moment in OT and PT

Post by JME2 »

For me, Vader's death and his love for Luke finally more apparent than the darkness that held in for two decades.

Han, getting some action in the engine room of the Falcon. :D :luv: :luv: :luv:
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

1. Vader's funeral. Love that music.
2. Vader's death. Quiet and touching.
3. Han's carbon freezing. The emotional climax of ESB in my opinion.

Defeat at Hoth, I think. Vader's death a close second.

Doesnt compare to the other moments, but I've always felt that the 'Yousa thinkin, yousa people gonna die' to 'Thas why you no likin us meesa thinks...' was Jar Jar's only scene where he escaped the slapstick for a decent and touching picture. For the first time, he puts the distrust among the Naboo and the Gungans so simply, and so quietly, that it actually comes across as quite profound...

His character and that whole subplot would have been a hell of a lot better if Lucas had made the Gungans warriors, with Jar Jar not being so incompetent, which would make the Gungan society a total mismatch with the decadence of the Nubians.

That's why there was a rift, and why the Nubians didn't like them. Then they're a whole drama about having to ask them for help because they couldn't fight by themselves.

But no, let's make Jar Jar into a funny character.

WHAT?! No one mentioned that one scene in A New Hope where Luke goes outside and stares at the setting suns and the music is playing? That's the most awesome scene!

Yeah, I can't think of anyone that didn't rise in their seats and cheer as the Falcon came flying in to save the day.

Well I was rooting for Vader.....

The first time I saw Star Wars (NOT ANH!!! STAR WARS [yes, ep. 4]) I was aghast when R2 got ionized. positively stunned.

Yoda's death was quite touching. (When I am gone, the last of the Jedi will you be.)

Qui-Gon's death. My heart still skips a beat when DM runs him through.

For me, I tend not to get emotion over movies, but the ones that provoked emotion in me are:

TPM: Qui- Gon's death
AOTC: Shmi's death

ANH: Seeing Beru and Owen dead
ESB: Vader and Luke clashing in Cloud City
ROTJ: Vader's death
