Episode 1 Question

something that's been kind of nagging at me for awhile, is there anywhere that mentions what race/species/etc. Darth Maul is? i skimmed through the alien anthology book for the D20 star wars system the other day and couldn't find any mention of it. i don't believe there was any mention of it in episode 1 either (could be wrong, been awhile since i've seen the movie). anyone remember hearing about this anywhere at all?

He's a "Zabrak". They're a playable race in Star Wars: Galaxies.

Actually, he's an Iridonian Zabrak, a subspecies with sharper horns. Eeth Koth is a normal Zabrak. You can play a normal Zabrak in JA.
