That's it, right? Where does it say "There are no 9 year old padawans, there are infants?"The Jedi Code wrote:There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force.
Where in the Jedi Code does it talk about padawans?

Is this a real question?
A mantra is different from a rule. Think of it being like how a psalm is different from a Jewish dietary law.

I think it is safe to say that this is one of those instances where a bit of EU is over ruled by cannon. Mace Windu says that taking two padawans is against the code, as you pointed out, that EU code has nothing in it about padawans.Rogue 9 wrote:That's it, right? So easy answer, that is either not the complete code or is just a cute little saying that encapsles the complete jedi code.
Another thought, that might be a creed while the code is more like the Jedi Legal Code that reads like laws and regulations and statues.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Windu meant Jedi Code as in "Rules of Ye Olde Jedi Order," not "the little mantra one says while meditating that's also sometimes called the Jedi Code."

Like I said, I find it highly unlikely that the entire Jedi code is a fucking single sentence. When Mace made that line, he was referring to a part of the code, not the mantra "there is no emotion, there is serenity" etc.Rogue 9 wrote:I mean where the hell did Mace Windu get that about the Code forbidding padawans as old as Anakin?

That cute little saying I sort of interpreted as equivalent to the Jewish saying "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind and your neighbor as yourself."
Obviously it doesn't get into the nity gritty "rules" and theological concepts, just a basic summation of the faith.
We've never been given a specific recitation of the Jedi Code, for all we know it's a trillion pages long.

various sourcebooks mention the jedi code, but don't go into too much detail concerning it. i think the most i've seen regarding padawans is that they Jedi won't have more than one at a time.
