That's the first thought that crossed my mind upon hearing that story.

Saw it last night at midnight. Wow. That was fun. My gripes are minor.

The whole crash-landing of the cruiser was a bit much. The thing had zero aerodynamics. I'd like to know how it pulled that off (I'll justify it as the force on Anakin and Obi-Wan's part).

Some of the romance dialogue isses that plagued Ep II but to a far less degree.

I can't believe fucking Jar-Jar survives. At least the little bastard didn't open his mouth this time.

Not a gripe, but was Jimmy Smits the only person on Coruscant to go investigate what was going on at the Jedi Temple? Did the Coruscant Fire-Dept. Take 5 and light up during that?

The good...its pretty much already been said here. One note though, I think the opening shot of the battle was the best opening shot of a SW film since the ISD fly-over in ANH.

I was really pulling for that young Jedi who Bail Organa saw fighting those clone troopers. Funny after being hyped to see the destruction of the Jedi I was hoping to see one make it out.

The ship probably had repulsors still working inside it.

EDIT:

Oh and people, Jesus Christ, MACE HAD NO FUCKING CHANCE! DON'T YOU GET IT?! Palpatine had UNLIMITED POWER!!!

Shit! Palpy was so awesome that he almost turned me gay!

It had to since that battle was in LEO and anything that wasn't using standard reaction thrusters on full power would be falling without AG systems like repulsors working.

Admiral Valdemar wrote:Probably because Mace is simply no match for Palpatine. He had the kid gloves on. Now, Yoda was something of a fight, but Yoda disengaged and ran away. If that doesn't show you how absolutely lethal Palpatine is, I don't know what does. People probably assumed he was frail and needed Vader as a bodyguard in RotJ, but his powers are not in doubt. He simply got too over-confident in the end.
With Yoda's retreat, there's another aspect that's more apparent in the novelization than the film. Yoda realizes that from the very start of the fight the deck is stacked against him. Yes, both he and the Emperor have equal power, but there's a key difference. The Jedi have stagnated in their ways, following the same traditions while the Sith, hidden for a millenia, have adapted and anticpated any contingency. This is where Yoda realizes that if their's any hope of stopping the Sith's Empire, what's left of the Jedi Order will have to adapt (hence training Luke at such a late stage).

Damned right. So the repulsors were failing, the ship was torn into half, shit was happening, but the repulsors were still on-line, despite being failing. So that's why the thing didn't drop like a brick.

That typically happens with any unthreatened power. They get complacent and don't think about expecting the worse and preparing for it. When they heard of a Sith Lord being behind the TF embargoes, they should've put extra effort into training to seek him out. The fact that the whole Jedi Council failed to find that it was a guy under their own damn noses who was orchestrating the whole thing shows how much power Palpy had compared to any one Jedi in manipulating the Force.

Ironically, it's likely the same reason that the Empire falls in the end too, at least Palpy doesn't anticipate his right-hand man turning on him after all these years.

Exactly; only the Emperor could rule the Empire. It's also ironic considering that, like Dooku, Palpy fails to remember that treachery is the way of the Sith; it was only natural that Vader was going to try to overthrow him, as his dialouge to Padme in ROTS and then Luke in TESB shows.

From certain points of view, it also ties into the whole motive for him trying to get Luke to take Vader's place, that Vader had outlived his usefulness due to the injuries he sustained in ROTS. Vader was powerful, but never powerful enough to take on Palpy directly after Mustafar -- hence the TESB sales pitch. Since this made Palpy thereby more powerful, it never occured to him that Vader would finally take the direct apporach.

I loved it. Though my gripes were the droid's voices, the acting sometimes, and... well nothing, hell that was it.

Can't wait to see it again.

Can we try and get the spelling right? It's Darth Plagueis, not "Plagus".

I was left distinctly unimpressed. There were a lot of awesomne stuff but the Padme stuff killed it all. My god, that shit was almost painful to watch.

As for the rest, Yoda saves the movie, anything he did was incredibly cool, Dark Side Anakin was just angst+10, the Clones sucked (that's what you get fior watching a movie with a bunch of military guys), and the fact that Jar Jar lives was a great crime. I rate the movie 6.5/10 overall, 8.5/10 if you ignore the whole Padme/Anikin crap.

Have a very nice day.

No he didn't. He outright states that Darth Vader will be more powerful than he is.

Obviously you watched a film no one else here did. I don't see how you can call some of the stuff in Episode III terrible when I've seen far more horrific stuff in B5 for example. There were some unintentionally funny scenes, but dammit, the film had barely no love stuff, was dark and had Palpatine fulfilling his legacy.

Palpatine does not say "I have unlimited power." That's just his triumphant victory cry. Why? Because Anakin just went over to his side.

And the best Sidious (rather than Palpatine) quote is still:

"No ... No .... No ... YOU WILL DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

*lightning*

Awesome.

I agree fgalkin. I was *very* unimpressed with the movie. In fact I had to leave at one point because it was simply awful. The dialogue and pacing were amature at best, and the battle scenes were hit and miss, emphasis on miss.

4 out of 10. This does not give me hope for the tv series.

I don't know what you're talking about fgalkin.

Hayden Christansen had evil Anakin nailed down.

What little romance stuff there was really didn't even seem cringe worthy.

To steal a phrase, that movie had UNLIMITED POWER!
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

Ok you're officially insane. If you left during RotS but stayed during TPM and AotC ....

At what point did you leave, anyway?
