Looks like more crap. Can we just put everyone out to pasture?

I want a series of books set in the SW universe, dealing with, you
know, normal people; like tramp freighter pilots; TIE pilots, whatnot;
with only peripheral involvement by "star" characters, IE, we hear
from a drunk spacer in a bar somewhere that the Millenium falcon
was sighted ten parsecs away...

In other words. HAN SOLO AT STARS END.

And what the hell is intresting about that? So I read about some random TIE pilot who dies within 5 minutes, or an exceptional one who survives despite all odds(called Tycho  ). I doubt it would be intresting to most people.

I know you may think this is stupid but I want to see the Galactic Alliance from a new angle. Some thing like a new planet which has just been discovered to have intelligent life and has joined the galactic community. Either around our technology level or maybe a bit lower.

It think it might be interesting to see how a new species would view the galactic community. Hopefully be a trilogy with the entire thing from there POV. It could show how there world changed and how they did as a people and you could address some of the things that people have been asking for a long time like why do droids and clones appear to be slaves.

If done write I think it could be great, of course if done wrong it would be a disaster.

I want to see a side of Star Wars we never see at all, what with the current intense focus on the main characters of Star Wars

Well, he's back. Wonder if the Chimaera, or Miat Temm (aka Pellaeon's force-lady) will be back as well.

EDIT: I guess this also answers the questions about the state of the empire. They clearly have enough political power to push him through as acting surpreme commander.

Corran Horn seemed like one of the more ordinary people in the SW saga (aside from being a good CorSec officer and pilot), at least until he became a Jedi. Even so, he was still a good "non-movie" character with an interesting story, and you could probably develop some more.

You mean the Starfighters of Adumar?

I dont think so.
The X-wing fighter pilots have earned their reputation as the Rebel Alliance's ultimate strike force by overwhelming enemies with their rapid-fire assaults. But now they are about to embark on a diplomatic mission that will prove to be even more hazardous than all-out combat....

The neutral world of Adumar has decided to pick a side in the war to control the galaxy. Delegates from both the New Republic and the Empire have been invited to Adumar, and each camp will be given a chance to plead its government's case. But there is one small catch: since the Adumari prize military skill above all else, they insist that both delegations be composed exclusively of fighter pilots. For pilot Wedge Antilles and his company, it's an unfamiliar exercise in diplomacy--and one that's filled with unexpected peril. For once they arrive, the X-wing pilots are challenged by Adumar's fierce warriors and attacked by Imperial assassins bent on eliminating all competition. But these challenges pale in comparison to the threat posed by a rogue Republic agent...one who is determined to win Adumar's allegiance once and for all--even if it costs the X-wing pilots their lives.

An update of sorts from the New Essential Chronology. I had expected the coverage to end with the end of the NJO, but the book goes on to the post NJO. While it doesn't provide spoilers for the final book, The Swarm War, it does go over the previous 2/3 of the Killik Expansion.

I wonder who that is meant to be on the cover. For the life of me I can't figure it out. Maybe Ben?

Looks like it. The guy's hair is red, and Ben had red hair and blue eyes.

It's Jacen, actually. A horrible rendition of him, but it's him.

It looks too young to be Jacen, but I'm likely wrong. It's times like this that I miss the old painted covers of the Bantam era...

He's about 5-7, can talk easily and can cloak himself in the force from Luke and Mara as well as blocking the force

Does wanking out a child character count as pedophila?

That was my thought as well. Also, keep in mind that this isn't necessarily the final cover art.

The final cover art for Betrayal is up now here.

One interesting note:
Luke grapples with something even more troubling: dream visions of a shadowy figure whose Force power and ruthlessness remind him of Darth Vader -- a lethal enemy who strikes like a dark spirit on a mission of doom. An agent of evil who, if Luke's visions come to pass, will bring untold pain to the Jedi Master... and to the entire galaxy.
(Spoilerized, just in case.)

My guess? One word: Anakin Skywalker. Okay, so that was actually two.
