Acclamator can deploy SPHA-T walkers (which IIRC are smaller then the Juggernauts), so don't think size of the Juggernaut is a problem

I know the Venator can land, but I wasn't sure where its loading ramps were located. I get the feeling the Acclamator could carry Juggernauts, though I doubt we'll see them in RotS.

If the art of Ep. III is anything to go by, we´ll see a loading area for the Venators. Looks like there´s multiple ramps with AT-TE´s going up them (Juggernauts in the movie).

There's an .avi cut from German TV on RotS, with footage of General Grievous walking (birdlike) and more importantly- long swathes of the space battle- including what appears to be the beginning, with Anakin and Obi-Wan skimming the surfance of a Venator (including flying past the HTLs, giving a great sense of scale) in what looks to be peaceful ... then diving down into complete chaos. It even has a little clip of Obi-Wan and Anakin talking, identifying the Invisible Hand as crawling with "Vulture Droids"- which are the fighters from TPM in their "walker" mode, jumping up and turning into fighters and flying off to intercept. They sound a bit like Speedy Gonzales when they talk to each other- I could SWEAR they actually say "Ariba!" :)

There's the shot of the SPHA-T beam out of the Venator's hangar bay as well- the resulting shrapnel from the explosion flies up and hits the Venator's lower hull (no appreciable damage visible).

Also, remember that HTL shot that destroys "something" in the clip from the Clone Wars DVD? It's one of the "pods" of a Separatist warship- not the one with the huge heavy turbolaser, the other one.

IIRC, it's a Recusant class destroyer the SPHA-T shot hits in one of the nacelles.

EDIT: Wait, that's a Banking Clan frigate you're referring to.

All these droid voices sound too cute for their own good. First the SBDs in the scene taken from trivial pursuit and now the Vulture droids. Still, they got lasers and could kill me if I laughed in their faces. :P

I was lurking over at MF.com and they have a thread 'the puzzle is now complete', which is basically pointing out all the things Lucas said he'd resolve by Ep III that were brought up in Ep's I-II and IV-VI. Some of the comments are to be expected; Force Ghosts and such, but there is one that I don't feel has been resolved; the exploding Emperor.

Maul didn't, and I don't know for sure, but Dooku doesn't either, so why did the Emperor?

EDIT :: Oh and on the Grevious thing; they over did it. I was expecting him to start clucking like a chicken when he was walking (especially considering that his arms seemed to be imitating chicken wings). Another fine example of Lucas taking things, just one step too far.

Crown, I warn you now - you won't like it, but that was previously dealt with:

The Emperor exploding was explained in The Dark Empire Sourcebook.
Chapter Four, The Force wrote:This power [Rage] may be used in a preparation ritual for the transfer life power. When a raged person uses transfer life, their original body is instantly and totally consumed by the Dark Side, often bursting into unholy blue flames.[bolded and colored emphasis mine]
So you have it. Palpatine was using the "Rage" dark side power (which qualitivatively is like a trance where one is subsumed into the dark side) to intensify and concentrate his Force lightning attacks on Luke, when he was suddenly tossed down the reactor shaft. He then used the transfer life power when he died, and as a result his body was consumed in a conflagration. Palpatine pulled the same thing in the clone chamber when Luke returned from his feint in convincing Leia, Han, Shug, and Zalla to escape Byss to confront him. He was using rage, than he intentionally used tansfer life, detonating his body.

Rage described in the DESB:
The character must tense herself completely, and allow the mindless rage of the Dark Side to possess her. When using this power, a character will appear lifeless. They are amplifying the negative aspects of their own personality, leaving the face clenched in a rictus of horror and fear.

Don't worry, I already thought of that, but discounted it as;
  1. George Lucas mentioned it in an interview after TPM (the Maul not blowing up) as something he'd resolve in the 'next two' movies.
  2. Joruus C'boath also went cablewy.
Basically I don't mind if DE answers that question, I already knew it did, but I was more pointing out that this is something that George himself said he'd answer, and hasn't. Although one wonders what the hell C'boath was trying to do, no?

If George hasn't answered, than it defers to the EU answer.

As for C'boath, it isn't inconcievable that Palpatine tutored him in the transfer life power, afterall he seems uniquely adept at manipulating the minds and wills of others, and transfer life is just the ultimate expression of that. The Essential Guide to Characters also suggests that C'boath was a test subject for his cloning aspirations. In which case C'baoth may very well have been encouraged to attempt the transfer life power or have had it performed on him.

Or, C'boath could have theorized such a thing's existance and simply attempted it when he died as desperation. Afterall there's no evidence Exar Kun was tudored in it, yet his temple-anchored-spirit trick is stated to be a utilization of this talent, according to the Dark Side Sourcebook.

Or there's the last possibility that an additional (unknown) cause besides the use of transfer life by a raged force user can create this result.

All very true. I suspect that C'boath didn't know the transfer life/conscience thing, or at least Palpy didn't teach him it personally considering how much C'boath was bagging out Thrawn for being 'too much like the Emperor' in regards to power (oh the irony) and the explosion was more of his madness and rage at his vision of Mara coming true - but not in the way he thought. One last attempt to get back at them, which would imply that the Force Rage in death throws isn't used exclusively like the DESB purports which is also a possiblity in that Palpy (and maybe Exar Kun) was the only one to realise that form of it.

But still, I was kinda just nitpicking on the fact George said he would and didn't. Sorry to get such a long reply out of view for that, even though - as usual - it was very insightful.

EDIT :: Removed one too many 'isn't's from the last sentence of the first paragraph.

Many things are possible, but I wouldn't pin too much down on account of C'boath's not remembering the event clearly or not realizing that Palpatine might still be alive because the man didn't realize that he was the Guardian of Tantiss. He's really f'ed in the head.

*Head hurts*

Don't bring up the C'boath/Guardian thing, I'm still trying to figure out whether or not Thrawn was taken for a ride by C'boath (an oldy, but a goody; oh and I warn you there's a bit of Zahn worship going on in there, mea culpa). But yeah, wholly agree with you on C'boath being seriously f'ed in the head.

I'd chalk it up to a destiny thing. Mara was definitely in his destiny, so the Force showed her to him long before they actually met. Luke, Leia, etc., while entwined, were not so integral as Mara, so the Force did not reveal them to him.

C'baoth isnt the only "dark sider' to "blow up" IIRC. Nightsisters also discharged large quantities of dark side energy on death, IIRC courtship. (I seem to recall other explanations for this phenomenon, ,but I don't recall them.)

For the record, the Emperor also performed a Raged Transfer Life where his body exploded in blue in the DE comic itself.

I'm pretty sure you can hear "Andale! Andale! Ariba!!!" in Jabba's palace in ROTJ, when the droids are bought before Jabba, just before he says "Bo Shuda!"

Some spoiler-pics (Anakin with severed legs, looking up at Obi-Wan, Vader getting his suit and helmet and Grievous dying):

MF.com has loads more like this, from all over the movie. Including.... including a promo-pic of the Mon Cal dancer. With breasts and nipples.

The first one Luke beheaded caused a "cascade of purple flame" to spill forth, Clearly not the same as Palpatine and C'boath but along the same lines, yes.

(especially considering that his arms seemed to be imitating chicken wings). Another fine example of Lucas taking things, just one step too far.
He´s having a coughing fit due to getting his intestines crushed by Mace in the CW, I doubt his arms do that regularly.

Seriously? Or are you just having fun?

:wtf:

Sorry I can't tell, mostly because when I saw it, I felt like it was the stupidest thing Lucas has done for a while. Really, was it in anyway necessary?

Let me guess, you haven´t seen Season 3? :?

Yeah, he got his lungs crushed telekinetically.

The voice-actor had a nasty cough during his voice-test and Lucas liked it so much, he kept it as part of the performance. Will see how it works out in the end.
