Y'know, it could be possible she's one of the, say, million or so alien species we haven't yet see on-screen. I mean at best we've catalogued a couple hundred, counting all the ones from novels or RPG sourcebooks. There's always a chance to see a new one.

EDIT: And how does artificial insemination take care of the issue that Kaminoians and Humans are probably less related than Humans and brine shrimp? Not like someone waves a magic wand or mish-mashes incompatable genes together for Shits 'N' Giggles.

I have a feeling this shows gonna kick much ass if Tartakofsky gets to shine like he does on Jack. 2-3 minute shorts seems a bit short, but if Jack can tell half the story with a single frame, just imagine what the StarWars universe can do with all its visual grandure. As regards to the art, I think the art used in Jack is exactly what fits the story. They are able to tell so many things in just a few frames and zero dialoge. Take a look on the side of a 3000 year old pot from Greece. Simple pictures and no words and we learned a great deal about everyday society just from those alone.

Sorry about the artistic rant :)

Not a totally bad idea you have out there. After all, Neimoidians are often mistaken for Duros, which look almost exactly like blue-skinned Neimodians. However, Ventress' resemblance to the Kaminoans is so uncanny that it's almost eerie.

Perhaps, LucasArts could be drawing inspiration from the ufologists who claim that aliens abduct people for the purpose of creating a new race of human-alien crossbreeds.

Since the Kaminoans are based upon the grey-skinned, black-eyed aliens which star in most alien abduction stories, it's not that unlikely that they have intended Ventress to be a human-kaminoan hybrid. Of course, Ventress could also be from a hitherto-unknown species which strongly resembles Kaminoans. (She's definately not a "purestrain" Kaminoan - her skull is very humanoid, Kaminoans have more triangular faces - and they also have fewer fingers than Ventress and much bigger eyes)

Or maybe Ventress is simply a member of a human offshoot race which has adapted to life on low-gravity worlds. I actually find this to be the most likely explanation. The Kaminoans might be the best geneticists in the galaxy, but even their biotechnology must have some limitations.

Neimodians are an ofshoot of duros, Simon. And that still doesn't mean that there are mixed species in SW.

She looks kinda Kaminoan, but only vaguely.

I was always pretty impressed with the Star Wars manga, I would welcome a SW anime spin off if done correctly :)

Ustanomiko, I never got the SW Manga for ESB, ROTJ, or TPM because I never got around to it, and to go get them from Iguana's right now would be expensive. I am still very interested in getting them, eventually.

The woman looks Human, though. Simon is just being a moron, a Kaminoan would be more slender and have a much longer neck, obviously... She looks like the design concepts done by (not Doug Chiang) I think Iain McCaig for a female Sith that would eventually become Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus' character.

I'll reserve judgment for this series until it comes out. It could be crap, or completely awesome. However, I have to say that I'm severely disappointed with this news. When I heard they were doing a Clone Wars series, i was expecting a 30 minute show (really 22 minutes without the commercials), not some damn shorts. How much storytelling can get done in 2-3 minutes? I'm also not a fan of the almost 2-D Samurai Jack style of art.

Where is this going to fit in terms of canon, will it not count like ST:TAS or will it fit into the EU? Or will it be "shudder" canon.

The only thing that's gonna suck about it is that they'll only be shorts. But Tartakovsky is the perfect man for the job, and the art looks beautiful to me.
If this is even half as good as Samurai Jack, it'll be super-awesome.

Could be worse, they could make the Rogue Squadron novels into a Show.

First off, yes the concept sketches are all bad ass. Especially of ANY Sith.

Second, I have the last book of RotJ Manga, and both TPM Manga. They have great art, work really well, even though it's all reversed from what it originally was.

Now, anime would work to me, either hardcore like Gundam and Cowboy Bebop or something lighter like Lupin III.

However, this is something entirely different. I am TOTALLY PSYCHED!!! I love this style. At one point I was trying to learn it so as to have another way of drawing some of my characters. (Note to self. Practice style.). I was never really a Samuri Jack fan, but it sorta grows on me, and I think this will really go well with Star Wars. It's fun, it's flashy. It can be cartoonish one moment, serious the next. I think that is one thing Star Wars has always been able to do. It was serious but then it could be funny. Look at the Droids in ANH. Look at Han in the Death Star. What about ESB, Chewies eyes as the asteroids crashed. RotJ had some real kickers too. Personally, everyone should give it a chance. Just like how so many ppl are bashing the 'new' Zelda look. Give me a fucking break. This series will not end up like Droids and Ewoks. It WILL fucking rock.

The only way Tartakovsky could mess this up is..........

Err, I can't think of a way Tartakovsky could possible mess this up. Samuri Jack is the Best! :D
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Argh. On the one hand, Tartakovsky would write great dialouge and have awesome cinematography. On the other hand, his style of character design absolutely blows when used for Star Wars.

Spanky owns the Dark Horse translation of the A New Hope manga. Yes, it most certainly does look better. I'd almost say Star Wars perfectly fits the style, but for now I'll say it at least looks a hell of alot better and more appropriate than this cartoon.
I've seen some of those, and I'm gonna have to agree with you there Darth, they do look a lot better than that poster. I am intrested though. It will continue the story, and perhaps if it does well...they might decide to do other SW tv stuff. Maybe with CGI this time.

I do wonder how this will fit into the canon though. Like above stated, EU?

The new Zelda look is horrible. I've seen stills. I've seen movies of the game on Cinametech on G4tv. It's just terrible. I won't buy that. I'm not saying the game is terrible, because I don't know that without playing it. But you have to wonder, for a system that's trying to prove that it's not just for children, I think they went and took a step in the WRONG direction to prove that. If they'd done it like the 64 games, or maybe something else...used the Cell shading the way Robotech succesfully did, then it would work much better.

I have all four issues of each of the OT mangas, and both TPM mangas (they really should have made it into four parts). Spanky, if it isn't too much money, I'd definitely suggest getting the rest of the series, because it is very worth it. I got 'em for about 11 bucks a pop when they came out.

And about the interbreeding thing, are you on crack, Simon? Kaminoans and humans are different species. They literally have just as much chance of interbreeding as humans and dogs.

Also, it's good to see that I'm not the only one who likes Tartakovsky.
