A major Al-Quaeda base wouldn't have more than a few jeeps, pickup trucks, and a lot of guys with RPG-7's. You're not thinking of the Rebellion in accurate terms.Trytostaydead wrote:Was Yavin a major base? If so, wouldn't there have been at least more fighters? How did Luke get an X-Wing?

Actually Yavin was half-evacuated, as Hoth had been and the Rebellion never stored its troops or supplies or ships all in one basket.Darth Wong wrote:A major Al-Quaeda base wouldn't have more than a few jeeps, pickup trucks, and a lot of guys with RPG-7's. Yavin, and Hoth after it was the Base of Operations for the Rebellion High Command, but they kept it light so they could abandon it quickly and so even if they lost some of the command, they still would have all of their military materiel.

Rogue Group, I think it was. The actual squadron itself was co-founded by Luke and Wedge after the CO of Rogue Group, a woman whose name I forget, was killed. I could be wrong though.Kazeite wrote:I remember reading somewhere that after ANH Luke got into newly created Rogue Squadron. Just before TESB he was second in command, but original CO was killed and Luke got his job
Well, the Rebellion had just taken a major hit at Hoth. Like before Yavin, they were desperate. Besides, Luke is a Jedi in training.Hehe a really good question!
A commander who disobeyed an order and lost his ship. I think he got the new fighter because he was an agent of the Alliance. Like Leia gave orders in TESB.
