I'm willing to bet that within 50 years, there will be at least one all CGI "live action" movie. The actors will be scanned in. The only non-CGI stuff will be voices, music and sound effects.Montcalm wrote:How long before they use CGI for everything, and keep only the main charcters of a story?

Even then they may be able to synthesize voices.YT300000 wrote:I'm willing to bet that within 50 years, there will be at least one all CGI "live action" movie. The actors will be scanned in. That's precisely why I love ESB. The AT-ATs move with a slow forbodingDarth Wong wrote: I love TESB, but just watch the Battle of Hoth. The AT-ATs are just really high-end Harryhausen special effects, and you can see it plain as day in their jerky stop-gap movements
that is just fucking scary. They take shot after shot and keep plodding forward.

All things being equal, the cheaper method is better. This is why there were still hundreds of models, sets, costumes, etc created for TPM and AOTC. The cheaper CGI is, the wider it will be used.Montcalm wrote:How long before they use CGI for everything, and keep only the main charcters of a story?
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.
