No check the context; I cited Episode 1 as a clear example of George Lucas being interested in the technology more than the characters.

I just keep remembering that McCallum said when TPM came out that the planets introduced in the Prequels would be gone by the time the OT rolls about.

I would assume that since GL hadn't even begun to ponder AOTC yet that he is referring to only TPM and since we know Coruscant and Tatooine from the OT, well...

I don't see this as unfortunate news. I think that it would work best if the movie focused on the corruption of Anakin...
