I think the better question is, why wasn't Vader choking Jerjerrod.

Because Jerjerod wouldn't allow Vader to go to the Emperor's throne room.

That's ... dumb. Why would he try and stop him?

Because Palpatine wanted Vader to stay on Executor. Jerjerod was obaying his orders, telling Vader that he wasn't allowed up there.

Dude, there's a reason it's a deleted scene.

Maybe Jerjerod was told by the Emperor 'no visitors' and followed that order, even though Vader would likely be exempt? Vader hasn't exactly shown much patience with people. It's easier to just choke someone who gets in your face rather than try diplomacy.

Or, maybe, he was a dumbarse and had a death wish.

[edit] Or maybe he did what Spanky said he did.

Spanky is correct, it is in the novelisation.

Ok that's the first picture, but what about the one next to it?

What is that red lumpish thing to the right, and who is the Royal Guard pointing his pike at?

Its actually a remnant from the first drafts of the ROTJ scripts. Originally, Jerjerrod was to be the main villain, the way Tarkin was in ANH--Jerjerrod and the Emperor were scheming together to kill Vader and userp him with Luke. Vader realizes this and storms to his masters palace on coruscant in a mad rage--Jerjerrod tries to stop him and Vader chokes him to death.

The whole Vader-Jerjerrod rivalry doesnt come across in the final film, but its just a final remant from the orginal scripst where they were both competing for the Emperors loyalty.

Sounds better than the ROTJ plot, but then again that's not hard- it is the worst of the OT.

It's the Crix Madine action figure head that has somehow made it into the picture that's the funny part.

I don't know what the red thing is, but the guards held thier staffs in Vader's direction, who is not seen in the second picture. Veder nearly choked Jejerrod to death before he released him to wait that the Emperor grants him entrance.

And that bit of final renment of the rivalry was brought in the book as basically an Unknown captain blocking the doorway...only the deleted scenes has it be Jerjerrod.

don't know what the red thing is,
Judging from the Madine picture, it could be an action figure. It certainly looks plastic.

The red thing looks like the arm of an Imperial Royal Guard action figure, scanned from the Action Figure Archive book.
