Look, I don't get out that much and so there are plenty of expressions that I am not aware of.

Not 9, 19. And I didn't get my name from Corran anyway, its just the biggest freakish coincidence to ever happen to me. Got it from playing X-wing: Alliance and being so good at it. They said I should be in Rogue Squadron and I picked a number. Later there was actually a sort of informal clan formed, but that's another story.

Meh, I've never ever understood why some people go so bug nuts crazy over that particular character.
Because Corran Horn is just Michael J. Stackpole with a lightsabre, an X-wing, and Force powers.
Hasn't MJS stated several times that Corran is not based on him? Didn't he base some guy that died in a Battletech novel on himself?

Replace Corran Horn for Kyle Katarn and that list would be accurate.

Put Jaina in a bathing suit and get a hot real world model to play her, and put her ahead of Mara Jade ;)

That list is pretty good, Thrawn is in the right place, maybe tied with Mara. That's one thing that really fucked me off when I started reading the NJO, she was all ill and didn't do a whole lot except go to Dantoine and get a kid to stick up for her while telling him not to use the force so much.

My personal list would be (not in order):

Grand Admiral Thrawn
Mara Jade
Kyp Durron
Talon Karrde
Jagged Fell

Anakin always struck as too much the hero, which is why he need to be killed off, and not in some poncy way, but not wipping out the entire Yuuzhan Vong or something. and Nom Anor just ended up pissing me off (although I still haven't fucking read The Unifying Force so I dunno what's happened to him), his constant escapes just annoyed me.
I'm sure there's more people te deserve mentions, but I can't think who.

Do video games count?

if so, HK-47 is at the top of my list.

If video games don't count than neither does Kyle Katarn. :P Unless he appeared outside the games, but if he did I missed it.

Kartan gets a mention in the final NJO book, also Page's commando's are named after Kyle.

I want to know why Ton Phanan or Face isn't on the list. Wes Janson also deserves to be there if only for his whole "shoot down the sun" skit he had with Wedge.

Thought Page's commandoes were named for katarns, the animals. Oh well. That works too, I suppose.

Video games do count, just not their mechanics and certain aspects of the story to make them more playable.

Conceded.

Kyle still appeared in the final NJO book. He even got a few lines IIRC.

I have always loved the Cloned Emperor. Although he was stupid in DE with giving Luke command of the World Devastators and for bringing Han and Luke aboard the Eclipse. If the DE II was able to be brought to an and in a good OT style then perhaps he would would've been liked more.

That was his second mention in the NJO; the first was four books earlier in Force Heretic I.
