Ummm, or maybe Han shot the unarmoured members of the scanning crew while everyone else jumped the stormies? Come on, it's not so difficult to figure out. After the prison break, the station was obviously alerted to their presence and remember that they put a tracking device on the Falcon, so they must have gone inside and found their fallen comrades.

Better yet Chewie knocked their heads togather and then after tearing off their helmats, Han shot them just to make sure.DPDarkPrimus wrote:Okay, so it was Han's blaster firing? Chewie or someone distracted the Stormies while Han snuck up behind them and shot them in between their helmet and neck seal. He then shot them with the helmets off to make sure.
So they were killed, and it explains the shots AND the spotless armor!

Remeber that a tracking device was placed on the Falcon. Most likely the crew that placed it found them, assuming the device was placed inside the ship. If it was placed outside, eventually some one will notice that the Stormies and techs are missing, and last seen near the Falcon. Assuming they were still alive, the would be debriefed. The techs would go back to work, the Stormies may get "reeducated" for leaving there post and getting the stuffing beat out of them. It is not that big a mystery.

OK, right from the film:
*scanning team arrives stage left
Stormtrooper CO : "The ship's all yours. If the scanners pick up anything, report it immediately" * addressing his squad except for the 2 sentries... "alright, let's go" Stormie squad exits stage right except for 2 sentries.
*scanning team lugs crate of gear up Falcon's ramp, and shortly after dissappearing from sight, 2 seperate loud crashes are heard.
"Hey down there! Can you give us a hand with this?" * Solo's voice...
Stormies give each other a look ( incompetant techs...) and head on up the ramp into the Falcon....
Once out of sight.....kpow! pause...kpow!kpow!....
Cut to Stormie officer in the control booth
I submit the techs were clobbered the old-fashioned way, and the stormies were shot.
*edit for correct line

There was no lightsabre ignition sound in this scene

No, because they were already down, or did you not notice that it was Han's voice that called down the ramp?President Sharky wrote:God dammit, read my post!

Errr, can anyone check this out? Cause I distinctly remember such a noise. But then again, I don't have ANH on video.Burak Gazan wrote: There was no lightsabre ignition sound in this scene

Okay, try this one:
The scanning crew went aboard. Luke, Han, and Chewie knocked them out as they got up there. Then Han calls down the ramp to the stormtroopers that he assumes are waiting outside. They go up to lend the ostensibly incompetent techs a hand. Han then fires three precise shots at the stormtroopers (perhaps his aim subtly being enhanced by Ben to preserve the cleanliness of the armor) in disabling, but not lethal, locations (knees, shoulders, elbows, etc -- enough to hurt like a bitch, but not to kill). They are also then knocked unconcious and thrown into the smuggling compartments that our heroes had just been in. Following that, they are left there (perhaps the lids are held in place by the heavy scanning equipment) and then delivered to the Rebels as POWs after the Falcon escapes.

I wouldnt be saying it if I hadn't checked it out already (BOTH versions....)

My fucking idea actually makes more God damn sense. If some of you people actually thought like normal human beings rather than geek morons, you'd realise that, too.
Tell me, honestly, what is wrong with the stormtroopers seen guarding the Falcon later in the film having removed them when they arrived?

No, just the people who prefer to think too far outside or inside the box and come up with stupid crap that doesn't make any sense, rather than think of something reasonable and remotely realistic.
Geeks need to realise that some opinions are wrong, and some people's two cents are just worth shit. Sorry to offend some, but this kind of junk is annoying to me.

What's 'inside the box', or 'outside'.
Since it didnt really happen on screen, for all we know Yoda force choked the scanning crew from planet Dagobah.
Since there was nary a speck of dirt on the armor, and yet we heard shots fired, it's realistic to think that somehow they shot the weakpoint sof the armour. How is anyone's guess.
Or perhaps the Stormies fired the shots, and someone else somehow killed and/or subdued them.
As for their bodies, it's not unreasonable to think maybe they were disposed of through an airlock, or kept subdued until they returned to base and were put in custody.

I'm not arguing over how the scanning crew and troopers were taken out. What I am arguing over is the idiotic idea that the Stormtroopers would stand outside a ship without looking inside, especially when they also put a tracking device onboard. To me it makes the most sense that they bodies were removed by the Imperials while the heroes were running around the Death Star.

Spanky, why would you assume the stormtroopers around the ship would remove them when they had already been spotted deeper within the battlestation? They were stationed outside the ship to ensure they didn't come back, but there's no indication they went in the ship when the very people they were looking for were already on the station.
I concede that your idea makes sense, though. However, I was mostly trying to reconcile the lack of scorching seen on the uniforms Han and Luke pilfered. In order for them to be so pristine, they had to have shot at joints or used stun. I would tend to assume ST armor renders the wearer immune to stun effects, negating that possibility. Either way, those are non-lethal shots. Their enemies would have been left alive. Living enemies can make noise (unless they're gagged...which they could've been). See where I'm going with this?
EDIT: Disregard my first paragraph. It even looks dumb to me. I still contend that the stormtroopers and scanning crew could've been hidden in the smuggling compartments so as to prevent them from making noise and alerting the station. Remember, Han and Luke were trying to keep a low-profile. So, it ends up mattering a great deal how their opponents were "taken out."
