Part of it has to do with that some years ago, Lucas stated publicly that he doesn't listen to critics or take what they say into much consideration (basically he doesn't care). That pissed off quite a number of them, so they have been lashing back by writing scathing reviews and articles for the films.

Critics are also frustrated with the films themselves, because they know they'll be hits and people will see them no matter what, which renders their influence mostly impotent.

Also Hollywood in general doesn't really like him, he's based out of San Fran and puts up his own money for projects. Don't see how they can complain because they are far more cheesy producers in Hollywood, there's the same soap opera style dialogue and crappy drama in almost every major blockbuster action/fantasy.

I just really hope while post production on Ep3 they saw LOTR 3 and said we gotta up the scale of their battles, seems to be new thing, just look at Troy and the upcoming war movies, action all the way to the horizon. Ep3 has one up on them because of the space setting, I can only hope a battle of Coruscant would make them show a huge scale battle.

Yeah I can see how that could be true. Seems also like they're basically jealous that he can do whatever he wants with no artistic restrictions placed on him by the studios or investors.

They've stated that the battle above Coruscant won't be bigger than the Battle of Endor, but will be more up-close and with greater interactivity between ships, especially capital ships.

I will go see it. Perhaps on the second day, and not the first, but still. I am no longer as rabid a fan as I used to be (thanks to the prequels and the fluctuating quality of the EU), but it is still #1 on my to-see list.

I'm excited to see it and I plan to be there on opening night. I really enjoyed AOTC (I recognize that it had flaws, but it was still enjoyable) and I probably WOULD have liked TPM a lot if that little blond-haired shitstain Jake Lloyd hadn't rubbed me the wrong way.

I plan to go in seeing it some time later in the week it is released. 4-5 days is about right to avoid the rush.

I usually get a cold or something when I spend a night camping in front of the cinema with 50+ other idiots :P to buy that premiere-day ticket (and getting a rotten seat as #13 in the line, and thats if they have a 10-ticket purchase limit!). So Two Towers was the LAST time I did that, never again.

I'm getting too old/lazy/realistic to do that this time, It just ain't worth it. All it gives you is bragging rights, and I guess I am getting a bit too grown up for that to matter that much to me. The movie is just as good 4 days later after all.

On the subject of Episode 3, of course I'm going to see it. I've stayed almost spoiler-free for 2+ years... also, the prequel trilogy will have been meaningless if not it is completed.

I'll go see it, and I hope it'll be good. Of course, as always I'll read some reviews first...

Ep1 was crap, obviously, but I thought that where Episode II was good, it was great. So yeah, I'm looking forward to Ep III.

But I really wish George Lucas hadn't penned the screenplays of these movies. I think that would have made the difference.

I am looking forward to this movie very much. The last of the Star Wars movies with OT ships but new millennia graphics and special effects.

What do you guys think this movie will make at the box office in the first week and overall?

I believed that AotC was much better than TPM, but not as good as the OT movies. I'm probably going to see it in the first few weeks, and hope for the best.

I was never really into Starwars before the Prequels. Since TPM I have grown to love Empire Strikes back best.

My friend Elli had a hand in my interest in Starwars also.

Starwars has given me many happy memories

I suspect I shall be first seeing episode III in Melbourne the day it comes out there, with my 2 best friends in this world.

Starwars is more than just the content of the movies to me. (and Im not talking about EU) It is a social thing also.

I agree. You can care about to Episode III without being fanboy who gobbles up everything with his favorite franchise's name on it. I for one am looking forward to Episode III. The prequels haven't been perfect, but I think they've received more criticism than they deserve.
I couldn't agree more.

You can buy tickets online, but you can't specify which seat you want. The point (for me, at least) of getting a good spot in line is to ensure a good spot in the theater.

Yeah that shocked me to read about how in Germany you get "assigned seats" and have ushers and all that in modern theaters and they cost different prices, like live concerts.

So wouldn't be surprised if some countries do it that way too...

I'll see it because I love Star Wars, and because I didn't find AotC to be offensive. Yeah, you can count me in as one that liked it; then again, I'm still thoroughly tickled by ROTJ ever time I see it if that explains anything.

Really, it's more of a completion thing. For some reason, the bad dialogue and bad acting doesn't really break the spell for me unless it's just *bad* For me, Star Wars is about the wow factor, and TPM excluded, it's done that. So I don't bitch too much :)

I liked TPM, too, and didn't mind Jar Jar too much (he actually does have a few good scenes). I think Jake Lloyd did more damage to the film than Jar Jar, honestly. He just wasn't very good at all because most of his acting wasn't delivered naturally.

Completely agreed... did you see that behind the scenes for TPM. They were interviewing and testing 3 little boys and the blond one was fantastic and for some reason George went with the Jake Lloyd for some reason. If the other kid was casted he would of rocked
