That's sort of an annoying brainbug. A lot of stupid Sci-Fi authors and fans just assume that any random terminal on a ship can activate any shipboard process the hacker wants. R2-D2 can hook up to a vending machine outside a bathroom and access the Superlaser controls. And a tiny droid can overcome the countermeasures of a computer with unfathomable processing powers.
