I will buy it on it's release day in Germany, meaning Monday. And concerning the Fullscreen edition.... I have no idea why anyone would want 45% of the picture chopped off. Here in Germany, only the widescreen edition will be sold.

The main reason i want the OT DVD is because my tapes wore out a year ago. Any extras on the disk is simply a bonus.

Indeed. I'm perfectly happy with my VHS copies if the special features suck, or just plain aren't worth it. Yes, yes, better sound and picture quality, but that alone isn't worth ~100 bucks.
Yarr, where ye be gettin' yer price? The reg'lar price be $69.99, and Wal-Mart gots it fer $41.88. Methinks ye be havin' a countin' problem, matey. ;)

Gah, you pirates and your numbers.

I was just throwing a number out there, to be representative of "expensive;" $41 being expensive because I'm a "cheap son of a bitch."

Edit: By them I mean one. Downers Grove if that's near you.

Yarr, Downer's Grove be too far just to save meself $4. T' money I'd be savin' on t' DVDs would be used fer me gas. I'll just be pickin' it up from t' great evil on me way home from rapin' 'n' pillagin' the city newspaper.

I'd like to mention I now have it on DVD, I just watched ANH.

For those of you in Sydney who are desperate, I recommend the Big W in Winston Hills.

I have a few questions did they add back the scenes between Luke and Biggs in the beginning of the movie. Did they take out Greedo shooting first? I think i wait for the prices to come doown and I get a job :banghead:

Many of the deleted scenes haven't been in good enough condition to be put back into the films for years.

I got the box. here in germany, we also got a nice wallpaper extra.

By the way, the picture quality (especially on the PAL DVD) is now so good, that we can clearly observe the Alderaan shield with the slo-motion of the DVD-player.

So much to "no shield"... :D

The DVD's were released here in Sweden today also. While I've only watched about an hour of ANH (I'm currently looking at the extras), I also noticed the Alderaan shield effect. It's so much cleaner. I wonder how Dorkstar will react to this?
What an amazing picture quality! JEJ's voice has also been made to sound more like it did in ESB and ROTJ.
The only thing I didn't like (that hasn't anything at all to do with the movies) was the DVD cases. I don't like that kind, so I went out and bought some empty DVD cases.
