There are quite a few cool ass TIEs, but seeing how no one picked it yet, I'm gonna go with the TIE Hunter.

There are several.

TIE Interceptor and Bomber

Very good looking starfighters even though not as good as Rebellion's fighters.

TIE Avenger'

Wicked starfighter flown by Vader. Plus it looks awesome.

TIE Defender

Allways good to see the Empire produce a fighter that can take on the best the Rebellion can throw at them.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Thrawn's scimitar assault bombers or the regular TIE Bombers.

Avenger.

Shields give it survivability parity with other starfighter types, hyperdrive gives it long range, and it maintains the mega-maneuverability of the interceptor or the basic fighter.

It also doesn't look gay like the defender. Really, defenders are overrated. They are less maneuverable than avengers... in the games, any decent avenger pilot can piss all over defenders.

Over Defenders on AI, sure. But then, one can piss all over AI-controlled Defenders with a Y-wing or B-wing if you're good enough.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

you can win AI TIE/d with YT-1300(factory version, not the Falcon) with some effort and skill.

TIE Defenders. It may go against almost every other TIE design but you can't deny its firepower. The Hyperdrive and shields don't hurt either.

Tie-Avenger and the Tie-Interceptor. Good weapons platforms without going to the Wank level.

The fighter Vader flew was not an Avenger twas the Advancedx1 "Avenger" is the minker for the TIE Advanced (no numbers) which a four laser cannoned and missle capable craft.

Bah! If the Wars Essential Guide is any aid, Defender was much superior in terms of speed and weaponry.

The TIE Defender is awesome, and is my favorite.

The Scimitar (I don't care that it's not a TIE), the Chiss clawcraft, and the TIE bomber are all up there, though.

The original. Because what fighter is history going to remember more, the MiG-29 or the MiG-21?

Because when I was little and seeing ANH in the threaters (before it was Ep. 4), it was scary. The shape of the wingpanels, the evil whine it made as it flew by... It left a huge impression on me, and since it was different from the rest of the TIEs in the movie. To me, 7 years old, this was The Evil TIE... and therefore, the Coolest.

Is that what he was using in ANH? The curved wingpanel one?

I'll take an interceptor, 'cause it looks bad-ass and sleek.

Actually, i'll have one of Zaarin's improved models - shields and warhead launchers, thanks :)
