Does Leia ever use a Light Sabre?

A friend of mine recently ran for election as a sab at the student union, for reasons best known to herself she used a star wars based campaign which prominently featured her as princess Leia wielding a light sabre. Instead of gaining the geek vote as hoped this instead sparked a prolonged debate amongst them about whether or not Leia ever actually handled a sabre (films, comics, novels whatever) unfortunately for my friend it would seem they were too busy arguing about this crucial issue to vote for her and she wasn’t elected.

So could anybody put our minds at rest does Leia ever use a Light Sabre and if so where?

Yes, she's not very well trained in it, however. She can block blaster bolts, but no way she could defeat a sith in a duel.

In one NJO book, Han had a blaster and Leia a lightsaber smuggled into the prison complex they were being held in by Artoo, and Leia used it to cut their way out of the building and deflect blaster bolts while Han shot up the opposition.

She doesn't have one on any of the Japanese NJO covers, but on the American Star by Star (and only on the wrap-around hardcover).

In one of the Heir to the Empire comics I have, there is a scene with her practicing with her saber. Of course, it mostly consists of her swinging the saber wildly while the remote zaps her in the rear.

It was in the Corellian trilogy that Luke gives her the Ruby Saber. Also in that book she managed do disarm Luke in a practice dual.

When Han and Leia were in that prison, I don't know which NJO book it was in, but it was after Balance Point, her blade is described as a ruby red blade.

I thought red blades where exclusively for Sith use only?

well Luke i dont think knows anything about the real sith, he dosent know alot about any thing in the force besides what Yoda and Ben told him

and after a few sources used Jedi with "red" blades it was kinds just put as a side not that when you see a Jedi with a "red" blade, they either have a
crimson or ruby colored blade
