Yes, but they should have stepped in when the warlords fought to avoid the death of civillians

No, they should have given up and settled down in a far away system

No, the Empire was better equipped to hold off the Yuuzhan Vong and other threats.

The Rebels should have never existed, because that would have saved billions on Alderaan and other planets.

Blasting New York? I approve! :P

Anyways, why should the Rebels have pushed their luck? Besides, their decision not to finish the Empire off ultimatly saved the Galaxy. 8)

Not even close. Alderaan was high visibility because of the arts and culture that came out of it. The population of Alderaan was insignifigant to the population of the Galaxy.

Why? It may not have been a Coruscant but it wasn't tiny either. I simply used New York because it is one of the 13 original colonies of the United States.
Oh that makes more sense. Although Im not sure if Alderaans importance to the Republic was that grand. I do see what your getting at.

I wonder how they would have managed to do that considering they already had their hands full with Zsinji, Thrawn, Pellaeon etc.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Evil empires deserve to be destroyed, but replacing them with something workable is a good idea. Rule by anarchy is a very bad idea...

And as anyone who has a brain says, those who are fucking dead truly have neither, without any need for this figurative and exaggerated bullshit. At what point does one acknowledge that a principle must be weighed against its cost in human life?
