No. I've actually never heard that before.

While it's true that there are some metals that cannot be or are difficult for a lightsabre to cut through (mostly due to things like density or other properties), I've never heard of such a material being used for a sabre handle.

The handle is made from phrik, a durable alloy also used in the construction of the experimental "Dark Trooper" battle droids at General Mohc's Arc Hammer space-going factory.

When you've got four opponents, all Jedi Masters, two of them being utterly superb, that's pretty impressive. Mace Windu manages to knock his sabre out of his hand, but given what occurs during the scene and the fact that he goes on to put Yoda to flight, he let himself be put in a situation where Anakin would have to save him.

I think there's also a Nick Gillard quote to that effect, but yeah, from the film alone, it's pretty clear how awesome he is.
