ok you guys are cracking me up. 1st I can't believe you are arguing about this. 2nd "Made up shit"... Star Wars is made up shit. HA!

Anyway, I don't think it impossible for humans/humanoids to evolve on other worlds or in other galaxies. Life while infinitly random does have laws and paramiters that it must adhear to. Water, oxygen, light/heat, gravity. Yes there are exceptions, but they are just that. Exceptions. The human form is probably one of the most adaptable there is. Suitable for all but the most extreme conditions. Yes there might be something else that's not quite a monkey that something could evolve from, but eventually its going to be close to what we are.

But to settle this... It was too expensive to hire real aliens so George just used plain old humans.

Relativistic time travel can only send you forward in time. Travelling backwards is completely impossible in that fasion.
Actually, I read somewhere pretty recently that time travel was possible(in theory), and I'm also pretty sure that it was related to realativity. I'll see if I can dig up the link.

Personally i think it's possible that some species were created by an alien power. Maybe the fossil records, are simply mistaken. In Mutineer's Moon they kind of went into this, there WAS a human-like species on Earth whose bones were like ours but they were hunted to extinction by REAL humans from space who crash landed here.

Maybe something similar. Humans were seeded on several worlds (Coruscant, Earth, Corellia) and this one just happened to have similar species, maybe failed experiments by the 'progenitor' aliens, who went extinct cause of human interaction and the records are simply mistaken.

Other wise there is also a very, very obvious answer that simply hasnt been brought up, probably cause people dont like the idea. I've always held that this obviously ISNT long ago, and certainly far away but probably not outside of our galactic cluster. It's most likely Andromeda, sometime in the far, far distant future after a colony of humans were cut off from the Milky Way, and established their own societies. They brought some Earth animals with them, and it spread through the galaxy.

Long ago and far away, most logical to me it seems, is the perception of whoever is telling the story. Maybe thousands upon thousands of years in the future, maybe Star Wars is like the 31st century and the telling of teh story is in the 61st century so by their perspective ye sit is a very long time ago and very far away.

TRAVELLING BACKWARDS IN TIME IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE THROUGH RELATIVISTIC TRAVEL.

You're not even listening to me, you stupid little piece of shit. You can travel forwards in time through relativistic travel, but you cannot, absolutely CANNOT travel backwards in time through the same method. It just doesn't fucking work like that. Try actually thinking or understand what you're fucking talking about before you just babble out garbage.

Time slows down as you approach the speed of light.

Time speeds up as you go past the speed of light.

See? There's no fucking place for time to go fucking backwards, you fuck, therefore you CAN'T travel backwards in time through relativistic travel. It's completely, utterly, totally impossible.

Uh...no to what, that it's taking place far, far in the future or that the galaxy was seeded with similar lifeforms by some alien power?

It doesnt seem impossible whatever race created SW humans probably was extragalactic, and came around here and made us too, probably in the same way. So the fosslin records, might actually be evidence of nothing more than the aliens having come around here millions of years ago, meaning the story in the movie, showing an already evolved human race, several races in fact (coneheads, tenticle chicks, red-devil guys) means it WOULD be very long ago, tens of millions of years probably, and quite far away, maybe another nearby galaxy.

Ask for the idea that it's 'long ago and far away' from the perspective of the storyteller, that's really the most obvious and simple answer right there, weather it's romantic and interesting or not. It's set in like 5000AD which is 'long ago' to a person six millennia later telling the story, for example.

No to everything you're saying, 18. It just has no semblence to rationality or have any appearence of being backed by actual thought. It's just pure idiocy, just like virtually every sci-fi related "theory" you've ever said is.

God damn it, I need to sleep...

Thank you, havokeff, for reminding us that Star Wars is fake. I was just about to forget, when you came and reminded me.

Okay, so then the fact that the Xeleeverse does precisely the same simulation of time-travel is a story idiosyncrasy and not actually related to what would "really" happen? [Assuming you take a shit on half the laws of the universe to go c+ speed in the first place...]

Time to go infodump my archive of 'facts' I've accumulated.

You quoted me while talking specifically about relativistic travel, so I assumed you were also still talking about it, which you didn't fucking indicate that you were talking about something else. It's a good idea to do that.

I know as well as anyone with half a mind that Relativistic Travel can and will not send you backwards in time...

I realise that I forgot to refer to the fact that there's more than one way to skin that particular cat, I apologise... but it's clear that Star Wars humans are probably sent back in time from our own Galaxy... not through Relativistic Travel though.

Well there is no OFFICIAL word, so really all we have is theories made up by fans. Like, oh maybe...the Hyperspace Aliens. The ones no one has ever seen, encountered, found one shred of evidence for...who created, also, the Maw, Centerpoint Base and the Corellia system...who used time travel, which doesnt seem to exist in SW, to do all this by the way.

I mean c'mon, Lucas, out of universe, was obviously just writing off the top of his head, 'long ago and far away' was his attempt to write 'once upon a time' in a clever way...i'm sure he didnt put ONE TENTH the thought into it that you or i or anyone here have.

Literally, your guess is as good as mine. LITERALLY. Your guess is as irrational and disconnected from the actual story as mine. So's everyone else's. And these are all the normal, rather sensible theories here.

I've heard even MORE crazy shit, i think the most isane was that Anakin's birth by the Medichlorians proved that human life sprang up spontaniously in the SW galaxy via the Force. Like, sprang forth from rocks, like Orks or something.

The thing is, since Lucas hasnt said shit, we'll never know. YOUR guess is as logical and rational as MINE or anyone else's too. Cause really, we're all just spitballing here.

The Hyperspace Aliens didn't use time travel. That theory also doesn't contradict, unlike yours.

I thought one of the theories is that the Hyperspace Aliens came to Earth, picked up humans and brought them to Corellia, Coruscant, etc? I guess i was mistaken, may, in that it was primitive humans.

But how DOESNT it contridict? I'm not saying mine doesnt have flaws, i'm sure it has several i havent realized yet. But still, these things were never seen, heard, spoken of, encountered, or ever referrenced as far as i know in any SW movie or book and are supposedly powerful enough to create blackhole superclusters and star systems? Where did they go? They died out? Ok, where are their ships? Their old cities? Technology, besides Centerpoint? Did they come from anoother galaxy? Universe? Originate in Hyperspace, which may be impossible?

Maybe i missed something but it sounds just as 'fanon' as anything anyone else has said. Admitedly it's far, FAR, more logical and reasonable than the 'Force-made-humans' creation myth where people sprang fully grown from the rocks by the P0wah of t3h Force!!1!!1 that i saw elsewhere, the fact is: where is shred of evidnce 1?

The Milky Way is a bared spiral galaxy. The Star Wars galaxy is a spiral galaxy. Those are two different types of galaxies meaning they are not the same galaxy.

Incidentally, Spanky, you can just calm down there...

Though rapid motion through space as describable by Special Relativity doesn't permit backward travel through time, that's not the only kind of relativistic effect.

If you have a naked singularity that has end points at different times, that singularity will permit travel backward in time (by a fixed amount). General Relativity permits this.

There may be other rules besides the basic rules of GR which go on to say that no, this can't happen. But if you only take GR, such a thing could exist.

Aren't you sort of forced to either accept (if you believe, as I do, that SW humans would have to have originally come from Earth) either some form of time travel, or a different perspective of the narrator, from the ages of some of the Core World Cultures? I thought Kuat's was something like 500,000 years old, whereas humans have only been on Earth for about 200,000 years.

As for the reason for so many human-like species, Curtis Saxton does what I believe to be a good justification for this. If humans have been widespread and influencing large numbers of alien cultures for hundreds of thousands (if not 1 or 2 million) years, that could have a serious effect on a species' evolution. It's possible that over that large a period of time, nature might select for aliens who closest resembled some human features in order to better deal with humans.

Anyway, IIRC, the Hyperspace Aliens are canon, and are credited with the creation of Centerpoint. I'm not sure about where this was said, but according to that book, they built it to bring the entire Correllian system into alignment, for whatever reason. Then they left, also for an unknown reason (transitioned into another plane of existence, perhaps? I won't even begin to speculate).

CANON!! Canon? Well it would help to know if it were or it weren't.

Even Spanky seems to be saying it's just a fan theory (though he say it's better than anything else thus far suggested).

The only mentions I've read (and I haven't read everything) is that there is a story that some powerful beings might have done this or that, not that it was an actual occurence. So it would be just as "canon" as the note that some people believe 'sun dragons' live inside starship engines. It merely points to the existence of the legend, not that the legend itself is proven true.

If it's now canon that changes a lot though. So please, more info? Do they actually call them "hyperspace aliens"?
