Something I've been meaning to say about this whole fiasco for a while:

Where does Lucas get most of his money from? Dedicated fans like you guys? Or hordes of pre-teen kiddies and their parents? And which group is easier to please/pander to?

Simple economics, folks! He doesn't give a fuck. And if the guy at the top doesn't give a fuck, why shlould any of the lower downs?

I'm kind of reminded of that Cheers episode where Cliff has this sound-amplifying device because he's convinced of some kind of conspiracy against him. All the other bar patrons comment that it seems that he's finally just gone crazy, but Woody protests that maybe he's on to something and should be given the benefit of the doubt. At that point Cliff walks back in and thanks Woody, that he heard everything through his machine and appreciated his support. After he leaves Woody says, "I knew he was listening, I was just hoping that maybe after this when he snaps he'll spare me."

I think it's becoming more and more obvious to the fans as a whole that KT's sanity has dumped its cargo at first sign of an Imperial cruiser, and that now we're stuck with someone who clearly is suffering from some kind of problem. And when you're dealing with a crazy person, you're kind of stuck; you do it the Woody way, in the hopes that you'll be spared their madness, or our way, which is recognizing that the universe isn't your own private psychiatrist couch. Seriously, how rational has this behavior been, even aside of the garroting and trachea pulling, at what point do you say "You know, maybe creating a made-up language of swear words based on the names of people you hate isn't healthy"?

I found it rather amusing that Traviss outright stated in her blog she watches for any mention of her name on the internet and rushes into the discussion whenever someone drops a line about her, especially if its even slightly negative. Moreover, she doesn't seem to recognize that such behavior could be easily construed as obsessive and unhealthy, and launches into a blistering rant against people she is only acquinated to through her pet syncophant simply because her intials were used in a silly (and rather amusing) little tune. The signs of a serious anti-social neurosis could not be more evident.

I find it rather disappointing that the blog folded under pressure as it did, but it is still satisfying and heartening to see some others are finally seeing DM for what he really is; a petulant, petty, self-superior child with more power than he is capable of handling in anything approaching a mature manner. And there do seem to be a few in the blog group with a spine yet.

Why would an author comment on every, single negative comment that comes his/hers way? (I can't imagine that the really big popular writers, such as Grisham et. al. would have really much time to do anything else if they would.) In this particular case, why not sit down and try to look at the situation, that there actually could be a reason as to why people have started to look at her and Dark Moose in that way? The song was made in jest for crying out loud. As for being an "offensive comment about a dead soldier", of course it wasn't. How on Earth can both DM and KT have misunderstood it so completely? KT writes in her OS blog header that "[she] has opinions, and she ain't afraid to use them?", but other people who uses their opinions are labelled as 'trolls' and 'talifans'.

I thought this was very telling: "Especially as the mod they'd taken against had been the brave soul dealing with the trolls targeting me.". Yes, we all know what 'trolls' Traviss and Dork Moose are referring to (that word has gotten a new meaning over at the OS and now means 'people, i.e. paying customers, who have the gall to be vocal with criticism').

And the word 'talifan' still makes me see red.

PLEASE, PLEASE forgive me. What we did was stupid, and I refuse to be a part of this "Pitiful Blog". I feel so stupid. I'd rather be on the good side of my favorite writer, my inspirtation, my HERO, than these guys. You made me love clones, you made me realize that two people that look exactly the same have ENTIRELY different personalities. The worst thing is that the way they change their tune when threatened. It's not as if they "see the light", although they'll say that in order to kiss ass. They just don't want to get on DM's bad side because he can and will ban them without any kind of reason, just because he feels like it.

That's the problem with "star chamber" moderating policies, where you can't actually see what caused someone to get banned.
