I hope he'll also write the EIII ICS.
Do you know if the EII ICS were comercially successful?
Not sure- the fans love the SW books though, and they have made two previous ICS books (David West Reynolds- no calcs, more vague) so there's no reason not to do one for Episode III I reckon.
I would love to hear the story about how he got tapped for the Ep II ICS though. Obviously someone in Lucasfilm loved his stuff eh
I'm pretty sure he'll do Episode III ICS. There's also the rumor of him writing another SW book.

Of course I'm not saying you made it up- however, the record is quite clear on why these no-talent hacks named the ships in the way they did:
"Imperial-class" comes from C-3P0 saying "Imperial Star Destroyer" once.
"Super-class" comes from Admiral Ackbar saying "Super Star Destroyer" once.
not only is it in many EU books, but its also in the Imperial Sourcebook as well as other places. neither are canon [/i]but i think www.starwars.com speaks for itself with Imperial-class.

For fucks sake-
Please provide a source that indicates that starwars.com is more than official material.
I should also add that it doesn't matter how many EU books say Imperial-class, because they all originate from a single place- those retards at WEG. Why people are defending terminology coined by the pen-and-paper no-research hacks who gave us the 8km SSD I have no idea.
The two big candidates for the ISD class name is Imperial and Imperator. Most likely, unless you are VERY informed (by the standards of the average stick-to-WEG-fanboy,) you won't even be aware of the latter as a possibility.
Historically, though, there is some precedent to suggest that both can be acceptable.
Look at the British cruisers of WWII. They actually have County class cruisers, Town class cruisers, and so on. But look at the ship list, there is NO such ship as the County or the Town.
In fact, you might never be able to find out what these two classes are. Because the County-class can be alternatively be called the Kent-class, in honor for the first ship of the class built. They are apparently called the County-class because the ships were all named after different areas of Britain.
So it IS possible for both of them to be valid and acceptable at the same time, under a similar scenario.

Yup- Imperial as slang/colloquialism/something else, Imperator as Imperial designation (the Mandel blueprints are just that- blueprints). I loathe theforce.net where most of the WEG phanboyz hangout, luckily SD.net is Imperator all the way for the most part
meNNis wrote:is it not true that the blueprints are flawed as well?
so dont give me that crap that WEG are the only ones who make mistakes
Yes they are. I am more willing to forgive that because Mandel worked off the original Star Destroyer design that the VFX team made for A New Hope, before the Star Destroyer model was scaled up for the film. However to assert that because they are flawed then somehow the bullshit, totally unresearched (8km SSD with not as many engines comes to mind) WEG terminology should be used is brain damaged, for obvious reasons.
How about we start a petition to get George Lucas to clarify for us the correct answer? I bet if we had a good thousand or two thousand signatures on the petition he will give us a formal response. What do you think?
History? I love history! First, something happens, then, something else happens! It's so sequential!! Thank you first guy, for writing things down!
evilcat4000: I dont spam
Cairbur: The Bible can, and has, been used to prove anything and everything (practically!)
StarshipTitanic: Prove it.

Yeah seeing how much he loves SW fans he surely will

Yep he doesn't care about ships and stuff. We should better ask the guy who designed the model.
I sent a question to the Jedi Council on SW.com asking what the ship was in the ROTJ battle- you know the SD with no hangars. No response. Useless pricks.
