I like that one. Seems about right. Enter Stargate SG-1 and the Garo'uld... uh oh! LOL [/quote]Ahh, but you don't need time travel to explain Earth-style humans in the SW galaxy. homo sapiens sapiens has been around for at least 30,000 - 50,000. Some estimates have essentially modern humans around for upwards of 100,000 years. One could assume that an ancient race of slavers (first motivation that came to mind) simply abducted a few tribes worth of paleolithic hunter-gatherers and eventually deposited them on some planets in the SW galaxy, (or in the Milky Way too, for that matter . . . might explain all those humans with funny foreheads that seem to be so prevalent in Star Trek and . . . behold SW/ST crossovers without crossing realities! ,) then we have a ready population of humans that came from Earth that would go on to develop a technological civilization that persisted for at least 25,000 years in some other galaxy.

Yeah, but weren't the aliens from "Close Encounters" based upon the "greys"???IRG CommandoJoe wrote:I always thought the Kamino aliens looked a lot like the ones in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Is it possible we are one of the satalite galaxies from EP 2, and that (this is going to make me sound like an Art Bell nut, which I'm not I just listen for the laughs) we were guided in evolution by Star Warsians as an experiment. Perhaps we are all that remains after the Yuuhzan Vuang(sp?) invasion.

That would explain why most of our psychics don't have much effect... (Yuuzhan Vong immunity to Force)Straha wrote:Perhaps we are all that remains after the Yuuhzan Vuang(sp?) invasion.

I know I should replied earlier but....Darth Wong wrote:And all of those pesky pre-human fossils are just a neat coincidence, as is the entire fossil record and the biochemical homology we share with the rest of the globe?Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman wrote:How about this: maybe the humans in Earth (us) are actually descendands of humans in SW galaxy? Probably, due to some freakish event, we humans on earth has lost all tech and science of our ancestor in SW galaxy and had to start from scratch? (Thus Egypt, Romans, etc).
No, humans started here. Since SW has no record of its biological origins and the odds against humans evolving separately is negligible, the only logical conclusion is that those humans came from here too.
Well, just wonder, what if it was explicitly stated in Star Wars that humans in SW galaxy are ancestors of humans in Earth? (Like Battlestar Galactica who said that Earth is the 13th colony)
If Star Wars explicitly states that and makes it canon, is there any way to rationalize it without violating science?

There is not really a way to rationalize that against science. It is FAR more likely that humans from the SW universe actually originated here on Earth, and that they were sent back in time and far away through some as of yet undescribed mechanism.

Well, not really undescribed, if you read "Conquest"Master of Ossus wrote:There is not really a way to rationalize that against science. I doubt George Lucas would ever do something as utterly stupid as stating that Star Wars humans are from Earth or vice versa. Remember, Star Wars is (well, was) essentially about myth. Star Wars is a fantasy. The amount of drubbing Lucas would cop from the media and from a good portion of his fans for trying to introduce such a concept would be enormous. He tried being more 'scientific' with the blasted midichlorians and look at how that went down .
I'm not trying to ridicule any theories here, I'm just saying that Lucas's original vision probably had little, if anything, to do with Earth.

What I mean here is what if. Let say that we ain't talkin' bout Star Wars here, but another SF that claims that Earth's humans are actually originated from another world (such as Battlestar Galactica), ie Earth is just another colony. Is there a way to rationalize that?Morte wrote:I doubt George Lucas would ever do something as utterly stupid as stating that Star Wars humans are from Earth or vice versa.
