It really comes down to Alliston -vs- Stackpole and even the dog in the street can tell you who is the superior writter. Stackpole gave us his Uber Jedi/Pilot/Messiah/Ego Trip wgile Alliston gave us decent fleet battles, see Iron Fist & Solo Command and on occasion a decent bit of comedy, The Starfighters of Adumar was excellent in that regard.

I didn't get to read much NJO, and when I saw Dalton mention that they should mention the Wraiths "exclusively," I missed that word and thought they disappeared for good.

I don't think I have to reiterate how much I despised CoPL. Zsinj had such a crap, cheesy death and Allston did such a better job with him; it's too bad that he had to force himself to setup for CoPL.
