No it was called "Diamond-Boron" armor, and it only really resisted fighter-scale laser blasts ( Mid GJ- low TJ range, in other words) It would still be vulnerable to turbolaser fire.

According to the EGTWAT the Diamond Boron missles are significantly larger than proton torps and concussion missles, hence why it was easier to shoot down.
