Yay! I now own the trilogy box!
And I also noticed that Luke's sabre is indeed greenish at one time in the Millenium Falcon
And the part they "fixed" when Luke's and Vader's sabres clash infront of the Emperor pretty much looked like shit. Even I could have made it looked better!
I also noticed that and thought it to be some hypermatter thing too.Tribun wrote:When the Death Star blows up, there is some kind of blue shimmer surrounding the explosion. Maybe a effect caused by the hypermatter?

With the consistant lack of ROTS stuff in the spoiler thread, I must continue to stae that you are bad people. Eric Cartman would have posted stuff by now. Are you really all that bad?

There's really nothing to tell. The supposed trailer (or maybe they called it preview. It'd be more fitting) for RotS was just GL and other people telling us that Anakin will become Vader (not how) and then we got to see how they made the new Darth Vader helmet and some shots of the OT Darth Vader. And some fighting in front of a greenscreen...Ender wrote:With the consistant lack of ROTS stuff in the spoiler thread, I must continue to stae that you are bad people. Can't you toggle between the English and German texts on the German edition? The Swedish edition (or Nordic rather) lets you choose from English, Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian texts in the photo gallery.
EDIT: Ender, there was a spoiler in the Exclusive Production Photo Gallery for ESB. It was a set that was recreated for Episode III that was explicitly mentioned.

Widescreen!Techno_Union wrote:Any suggestions on whether it should be widescreen or not? I can't decide which one.
With Widescreen you got:
-the full picture exactly as in the cinema in it's original aspect ratio.
-see the movie as it was intended to be seen
-you can see the movie later on 16:9 TV without regretting buying it.
With Fullscreen you got:
-over 40% of the picture chopped off
-have pan&scan orgies where the picture moves the whole time
-Will be angry because a 16:9 TV will have no advantage with the fullscreen version (while it will improve the widescreen version)
So take the Widescreen edition, and you will be very happy!

Did you seriously have to ask?
The only (purported) advantage the full frame has over widescreen is that the box is gold (which I find ugly compared to the WS's silver).

And I find the box in 'boxsets' to be not only ugly, but completely redundant and unnecessary, hence their binning.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:The only (purported) advantage the full frame has over widescreen is that the box is gold (which I find ugly compared to the WS's silver).
And always go for widescreen.

Actually I did, I made the mistake of full frame with EP. II and I, therfore I had to make sure widescreen was the batter choice since I haven't seen SW in wide.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Did you seriously have to ask?

I saw that too, I hoped it was a trick of light on my tv or something.Dooey Jo wrote:And I also noticed that Luke's sabre is indeed greenish at one time in the Millenium Falcon
Was Yavin always visible in the scene where the X-Wings take off?
I've watched some of the docos on the SF disc, I quite like the Legacy of Star Wars ne with the interviews with various filmmakers. That was great IMO.

Found out a local video game store is opening at Midnight to sell the DVDs. It's about $5 more than Best Buy, but I can get it earlier, and don't have to give my money to a corperation. Fuck yes. I'll be leaving to get in line in a couple hours.

My brother bought them today while I was at Uni having a long and boring day. I haven't seen more than a few glimpses.
- minor VFX gaffe in ANH: Luke's lightsabre is green for a few shots. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. How the fuck could they have missed it? Were they rushed and overworked and slipped it in? Goddamn.
- Hayden's insertion at the end of ROTJ isn't nearly as bad as I was dreading. Although I miss Sebastian Shaw his editing out is no major loss.
- The visuals are... kickarse. Beautiful. Crisp and clear. Stunning.
[EDIT]- Palpatine's/Ian MacDiarmind's insertion into ESB is actually pretty good. Much better than the freakishly weird previous Emperor.
- Temuera Morrison's voiceover replacement for Boba Fett sucked.

Did he redo Boba's scream as he rockets into the side of Jabba's pleasure hover-thingy? I liked that scream...Stofsk wrote: - Temuera Morrison's voiceover replacement for Boba Fett sucked.

Nope thats the original, or so close to it that I couldn't tell any difference and I was listening out for it. To be honest I didn't find his voice overs that bad, he doesn't sound all that different from how he did before to my ears.DPDarkPrimus wrote:Did he redo Boba's scream as he rockets into the side of Jabba's pleasure hover-thingy? But having him do Boba's voice over makes an interesting point - it's now basically canon that all Stormies are not clones because they kept their original voices and obviously from AOTC and Bobas new voice in SW clones = all identical voices.
I must agree the image quality is stunning, the only slight problem with that is it makes some of the shots that use matte paintings easy to spot and some of the SE CG now looks B-movie quality (the Rontos and the Sarlacc in particular).
Funny little things I noticed: When the Stormie in ANH bangs his head on the door in the DS there is now an audible *clink* if you listen carefully. Also they did not remove Oola's little, ahem, slip as I had heard and thanks to the better resolution you can tell the actress' makeup artist was very thorough in her work now - I am not ashamed to say I went through frame by frame just to be sure.
