Somewhat Band of Brothers style mini-series about OT era Rebels taking place sometime between Yavin and Endor. Depict Rebel soldiers performing different tasks (e.g. X-Wing pilot, infantry Sergeant, Admiral/General, Special Forces "commando" etc.) performing their duties. Blow the entire budget for the show on a single season to be able to afford the special effects necesary. The show would include at least one largish space battle and one large ground battle, the space battle would be depicted from the PoV of an Admiral, the ground battle from the PoV of an NCO.

I don't recall TNG starting the "organic pwns metal tech!!!" bullshit trend. That came later with the Vorlons and then Species 8472 in Voyager, IIRC.

Sounds like a keeper.

Maybe they could get all the embittered fanboys to send in their wank fanfiction, shoot on the flimsiest of budgets with no-name actors and the same 5 or so special effects shots like they did with the old Battlestar Galactica.

Then all the twerps who were convinced they could write better Star Wars will have their entrails ripped out by web posters and have to drink a nice hot cup of Shut the Fuck Up!

Nah I glom on to the current popular idea just like a real network excutive would Star Wars "CSI" or even better maybe a Star Wars "Lost" . Original ideas who needs them not Holywood

A couple ideas

First, a prequel series. Starring a Padawan Qui-Gon and his Master Dukoo.

Next would be a ship based series, a pirate ship place after a new hope, just trying to survive the galactic war from a civilians point of view.

I had sort of an idea for a SW show: have short stories, say 3-4 episodes long, with completely different characters/actors each time (there can be major players, but aren't the star of each segment. say, the hero of this month's segment gets mentioned in the news repeteadly or is a minor character in another segment).

You could have all kinds of stories, like a band-of-brothers kind of thing for 3 straight eps, then you'd have a "life in the moisture farm" with Parlis Hilltron or something, for a couple eps, or maybe even just one.

Well the thing about a TV star wars would be the abillity to tell a much more in depth story than you can in a movie. I persoanlly would like to see it focus on non-film characters, I like the idea of t focusing on prates or the criminal underworld, preferably during the galatc cvil war. Use the civil war as a backdrop to the story. Maybe focus on smugglers or bounty hunters. Failing that I would love to see something set in the sith/jedi wars. No threat to cannon and lots of oppurtunity for saber fights.

My idea would be the tales of a bounty hunter like Bobba. From his story you can see both sides, the Empire and the Rebels without stepping on Toes.
