The Size of the Droid Army "Retconned"

Mostly TFNtards, but I think some of it can be applied to just about any faction as of now. Seriously, it's been explained and debunked from one end to another, why keep harping on it ad nauseum?

I just want this horrible ordeal to sink into obscurity, never to be mentioned ever again.

Unfortunately now that it's "canon", I'm fully convinced that we'll continue to see the three million figure as well as the "retconned" size of the droid army in various EU sources.

The TV series will make their position look even dumber, but I doubt it will resolve anything. Nothing short of EU text (it must be text) or an official statement from Lucas or Chee stating "3 million is not canon" will sway these people. Look for these idiots to claim that the handful of simultaneous battles this show focuses on are the only battles the GAR is involved in, or to go along with idiotic brainbugs like taking over the capital city means you've taken the entire world.

-Formed towards the end of the Clone Wars, this legion never got the orders for Order 66. Actually, the 9th Royal Guards were in the middle of training during Order 66. During the 501st Rebellion on Kamino, when the Kaminoans cloned a small army of clones when they turned againt the Empire, while the 501st was fighting, the last legion of clones still under control of the Republic left Kamino. Many were unaware of their whereabouts at the time. Later during the Rise of the Empire, these clones were discovered on an asteroid by Sha Ti, one of the last jedi survivors. These clones were quickly put to use. Under command of Commander Yule and General Ti, they went around trying to rescue as many jedi knights that they could. Although this was extremely unsuccessful, they did however encounter a couple battles. Once they encountered a space battle with one of the many newly designed Star Destroyers. This small skirmish was over before it had begun, leaving the 9th Royal Guards Republic Cruiser damaged and almost completely immobile. Shortly after this, they were again attacked by the rising Empire. Stormtroopers began to pour into their Cruiser. Sha Ti was at the front of the battle. The clones were well prepared for this attack, and defended their wounded Cruiser fairly well. After the smoke cleared, Commander Yule found Sha Ti injured. They quickly brought one of the last, and to the 9th Legion, the last, of the Jedi Knights into a medical room. The young Jedi Knight died the next morning. These Clones swore at that moment to always be part of the Old Republic, later joining up with the Rebel Alliance later during the Rise of the Empire. Still under command of Commander Yule, they began fighting of the Empire, one Star Destroyer at a time. The 9th Royal Guard Legion is the last of the Republic’s Grand Army, fighting for good, when all of their brothers have turned against them.


-The 9th Royal Guard Troopers are white, and have green right shoulder pads. Commander Yule has silver marking on his torso. These guys are trained for fighting in space and in dense tropical and temperate forest climates. Although they are not trained for arctic combat or desert warfare, these clones still manage to absolutely annihilate the enemy in almost any climate or terrain. The 9th Legion is also known as the Lancers, because of their fine riding skills on lancer bikes and most speeder bikes.


-The preferred vehicles for the Royal Guard are the BARC speeder bikes, but seem to do fine with lancer bikes. Other vehicles used by the Royal Guard are, All Terrain Open Transports (AT-OT), Swamp Speeders, the classic All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE), Clone Turbo Tank but not many exist any more so they are rarely used, and many modified Republic Attack Gunships including the Gunship variant to drop AT-TEs and other heavy cargo. These modified Gunships are usually camouflaged and or have green markings on them that resemble the ones found on the 9th Legion clones.

I think that's the most comprehensive rebutal I've seen yet to the 3 million. Now on to the hundred million droid army...

EDIT: I must confess, I do enjoy it, sometimes, when controversy arises in Star Wars, there's always a volomunious body of work that could qualify for dissertations that I enjoy reading.
