May 5th. After that one, there is only a two month wait for the next one, Reunion.

Kewl, I knew Final Prophecy comes out in November but thats all I had info on.

And i know this isn't Force heretic, but has anyone read all or part of "Ylesia"? For those who don't know it it is an NJO e-book that isn't going to see print. The thing about it that interests me is that Ylesia is where the Peace Brigade has set up their capital.

No, but he IS more informed about the status and number of YV ships in the Galaxy, and he has very good information about the Empire. If you will note, the piddling NR has destroyed a THIRD of all the warriors that the YV brought to the Galaxy. The NR is not as powerful as the Empire, and the Emperor would have moved his forces quickly to the Rim to stop the invasion before it had a chance to get going. The YV needed to stop and re-arm when they arrived, the Emperor would have denied them the ability to do that.
Of course the fleet was already spread throughout the galaxy in an effort to nab the Rebels and Skywalker, and the YV invasion would really take pressure of the Rebels to a degree.

Since I likely won't get a chance to read this book infortunately. What exactly is the status of the Imperial Remnant by the end of the novel and what was there role like in this one? I hear they lost Bastion but I'd just like some greater details on it.

Lost Bastion, lost a bunch of SDs, lost a lot of civilians (as slaves and otherwise), lost of hefty chunk of the military.

The Imperial role in Remnant consists primarily of 1) getting assraped by the Vong at Bastion, until Luke and co. show up and then 2) successfully fighting back at Borosk, with the NR's Vong-fighting secrets.

Pellaeon suspects that the Vong may take a swipe at the Imperial shipyards on their way out. The Vong were just trying to intimidate the Imperials, not flat-out destroy them. At the end of the novel, Pellaeon has agreed to an unofficial alliance with the Galactic Alliance.

On the other hand, he may have just been voted into power by some confederation-minded Senators, so he is kissing ass and giving it stupid names. We don't know yet. The fact that they're diplomatically courting the Empire even though they don't need them to win anymore is particularly interesting.
On the contrary, they need them more than ever for tactical and political purposes.

Political: What better way to proclaim a GAlatic Allian then to bring the Empire into the fold and ally with them?

Tactical: The Imperial Navy is still a force to be recokned with, even after the fall of Bastion.

Better than most NJO books, not saying much though. Gonna take a bloody miracle for me to rate the NJO series as anything other than mediocre though.

The Imperial Navy is impressive in the quality of its training and ships.

Nothing else. It's too small and too corrupt and too little to be of any real galaxy-wide concern.

Hey moron. Read your post. "After the fall of Bastion."

Especially then, but even before, they're pathetic.

The New Republic has well over 1000 sectors, diverse and throughout the galaxy.

The Imperial Remnant has eight in a shitty part of the Outer Rim. You do the comparison.

Label me as a moron again and I will have to implore a countermeasure that is a combination of psychology and violence. The point I was hoping to make goes into the questions of "Look who you're messing wiht now, punk" as well as "If the Empire was still in power, would they have had a better time in defeating the Vong", the latter towards which I say yes, they would have whooped their asses by the end of the first year. Can you say, bring on the Star Destroyers! Wheel in the World Devestators. This galaxy isn't big enough for the both of us!

Ahem. Thank you.

Well I haven't finished reading it yet, but I've found some gripes:

1. Organic technology fanboy wankfest time again, fuck this pisses me off, I hate the very concept of organic technology, and especially when they begin flapping and yapping about Zonama Sekot and they're incredible _organic_ ships that where better than any other ship in every way, oh fucking please, that pissed me off more than the absurd times in B5 when the characters would start wanking on some organic technology relic they've found.
They also said that coralskippers where superior? Excuse me? Those worthless slabs of stone that get killed by the thousands? No way.

2. Relatively minor point but it shows the authors these days aren't up on the small things, it mentioned Luke's cyborg hand being unatrually cool, this is false, we know from another novel that the hand perfectly mimicks a real hand.

Hey HDS, page 121, bottom half there is a quote stating that the Yaga Minor shipyards "dwarf" a small moon. Might be relevent to your database.

Especially when you remember that the DS was considered the size of a small moon.

In terms of speed and manuverability, they are superior. This was established back in Vector Prime.

Christ, I'm limping through this novel. Its just not that interesting. Couldn't they have done SOMETHING interesting, like finding out the Remnant was buuilding a new Death Star all this time to unleash against the Vong? and What happened to Pellaeon's SSD? Why is he back on the Chimaera?

True, I haven't finished the book yet. I'm on page 234. I'm finding myself skimming pages, beecause I could give less than a fuck about Tahiri, Jacen or Jania.

Just picked up "Tatooine Ghost", and can't WAIT to read that.

It is mediocre yes.
That Tahiri angle could have had some potential, like some backlash of those experiments they performed on her, or maybe Anakin's ghost really coming back in some form, chasing her in her dreams.

I'm fairly certain it's the ship called Defiant, and yes it makes an appearance.

Dude, I posted that some time ago. I got the ebook and read it. It's actually damn good. Which is surprising.

I have a question about Zonoma Sekot...
How do you go about making an entire planet move? What will happen to it's ecosystem? Natural resources like forests and seas? Vergere said that everything was in harmony with each other, won't moving an entire planet off it's orbit throw off that harmony?

First off, Fanboy, don't listen to anyone but me on Ylesia. This is how good it is. I loved it. Why does that measure how good it was? Because I severly hate most EU and the majority of the NJO. This ebook was great though. It was very exciting.

Zonoma Sekot is a living planet. The whole thing is alive. So it moving, while strange, I can kind of see. It would actually be able to hold itself together somehow. Ah fuck it. It's Sci Fi/Fantasy, It's a bastard planet that travels through hyperspace.
