I don't remember hearing that line froma anywhere. Perhaps you're confusing it with Mace Windu's reply in the AOTC novelization?

"Brave but foolish; you're impossibly outmnumbered."

"I don't think so, a single Jedi is worth a hundred Geonosians."

As if he thought the Count wouldn't have droid body guards (Obi-Wan said the "droid foundries of Geonosis", after all) much less a droid army.

The novelization clearly mentions thousands of battle droids versus (I think) 200 Jedi. The odds therefore suggest anywhere between 10:1 and 50:1, and that doesn't include Geonosian interference (including Artillery - IE Sonic Cannon.)

Presuming I can only come up with limited numbers vs. Jedi, it looks something like this.

1. Jedi enter base
2. Jedi have all oxygen removed from areas they are in. When they attempt to access air supplies elsewhere, they find that it is contaminated with a cocktail of poisons and sedatives.
3. By this time, I have evacuated base in my personal escape vehicle.
4. Jedi are bounced off walls ceiling and floor, by continuous shifts in the direction and strength of gravity.
5. If Jedi stands in doorway, door snaps shut in an effort to squish. If he runs forward, he runs into invisible wire grid.
6. Innocuous looking maintenance 'mouse' droids go about their business, until a Jedi gets close enough, in which case the thermal detonator inside goes off.
7. If Jedi attempts to access computer for information, Jedi is electocuted, and display screen flashes in a pattern designed to set off epilepsy, or just lets out a light intense enough to hopefully permanently blind the Jedi.
8. Ambient temperature is lowered drastically.
9. Apart from deliberate blinding attempts, base is in total darkness.
10. Claymore type mines go off in confined spaces.
11. If I can manage it, Durasteel bulkhead that fills entire hallway is launched at Jedi at ludicrous speeds.
12. If all else fails, highly trained team in Mandalorian equivalent armor engage Jedi with lots of rapid fire weapons
13. If team dies, self-destruct base from orbit, as I rendezvous with my starship and leave system, never to return.

That line was suppossed to be in response to Mace.

"Brave but foolish; you're impossibly outnumbered."

"I don't think so, a single Jedi is worth a hundred Geonosians."

"Yes, but is a single Jedi worth a thousand Battle droids?"

Then the droids come down the hallway

was pre-JKO, where Kyle's uber-Jedi wanking makes it seem like he can focus simulatenously on all the shrapnel that is suddenly sprayed at him and redirect it simulatenously all in the same direction.
Well, technically, Kyle couldn't block it all, since the Flechette was a handy anti-Jedi weapon (much like the Repeater in "Jedi Knight" with its secondary 3 shot burst function... the Jedi blocks some but not all the shots, and he gets worn down).

In the original Jedi Knight you could stand still and block a continuous stream of shots from the Repeater and reflect them ALL back at the shooter if you were sufficient Jedi rank (your skill with the saber goes up with each ranking).

Of course these are still game tactics we're talking about (but then people keep bringing up the RPG's so I assume it's fair).

Blocking fast shots has been seen in the movies though (Obi-Wan blocked all of Jango's dual blaster pistol shots, and Mace blocked a series of shots as he was falling in mid-air in the Genosis Arena whilst stripping off his burning robe from Jango's flamethrower, AND was able to get himself a safe landing... not bad!), Obi & Qui Gon blocking the Droideka's automatic fire, etc.

Ysalamari were stupid, but then YV were far worse...

Though, I guess it wouldn't be too hard to imagine somebody who uses the force to "block" the force of others. But that's an alternate interpretation of how its explained in the EU. Go figure...

They could have just made some bad-asses fast and tough enough to dance with a Jedi despite their force powers, which would have given normal people no chance against them, and made it so the Jedi absolutely had to be on the front lines to fight them. Instead, its 'Omigod, we can't sense them through the force, we're helpless, wahhh!' when anyone intelligent reading the series has already noted a half-dozen ways jedi could use the force to take YV down without going hand to hand.
