When I first heard the phrase in the first SW movie I thought Obiwan said "I fought with your father in the Colone Wars." I figured Colone was a planet where a major battle was fought, or something like that.
BTW when I first heard Episode 2 was going to be called Attack of the Clones I thought for sure it was a joke. I was like, that sounds like a bad midnight movie, no way they're going to call it that!

Clonetroopers != Stormtroopers.

Yeah, but everything I've ever heard lately points to the formation of the Clone corps being more or less the vast majority of the Stormtrooper corps. IP likes to cite Pax Empirica, for instance, with something like 40% of all stormtroopers being from one clone stock. I find the entire idea of Stormtroopers being largely clone troopers to be irritating and repulsive.

I really, really hope the old stormies aren't clones. Being space nazis is justification enough for them to be killed. Please don't tell me there's a new lucas history revision with our heroes killing nameless, faceless clones instead of just fascist lackeys... *squeezes eyes*

They probably won't make the stormies clones. Right? :P

Lucas didn't go back and dub all the Stormies in the OT with the same voice as Jango. Good enough as canon evidence that Stormies aren't all clones- besides the sheer fact that the number of troops in the Empire is beyond the scope of cloning.

Of course his other statement "he was already a great pilot."

Translation:

When I met him, the little kid was already a great pod racing pilot, and he had incredible luck when he accidentally got into a starfighter. Later he almost killed us both driving an air taxi on Coruscant!

Um, The Clone Wars series and RotS, moron? Hello?

Typical selectiveness from you...
Anakin was a great pilot when Obi-wan met him not later. So once again we are back to "are pods flying, or driving?"[/i]

Anakin says he´s the only human who can pilot one, so I guess that makes him a pilot. 'Starpilot' was never mentioned in this context.
