I consider the "stormtroopers are all clones" a (or at least close to) a brian bug, since we knew NOTHING about this until 1980, and as somebody else so eloquently put it "Lucas claims he always intended..." but we see ZERO indication that that's the case, even in the films, until Attack of the Clones, so maybe the idea was brewing, but it seems like he just made it up.

He had the technology to give all the Stormies in ANH, ESB, ROTJ, the same voices. He could have picked actors to wear the suits who were all the same height, etc.

My brainbugs are based on ANH the movie as the starting point. The EU differs somewhat, but its definately picked up the brainbug of the trooper guns, but not the "clones" thing because the clones things really wasn't part of the canon until 2002 (despite the magazine article from 1980, that apparently no EU writers paid any mind).

The only real similarity the Stormies share in the canon films up to AOTC are that they all wear the same uniform, which isn't surprising in a military organization, especially one as authoritarian as the Empire. Having standard armor for troopers is a good idea (mass production) and a lot of sci fi/fantasy before and since has the whole idea of mindless drones working for the bad guys.

But are they all clones of the same person? And the same person for 50 years? (AOTC to ROTJ) Sounds like a brain bug... something Lucas didn't really consider until much later.

Blame WEG :)

Or go to theforce.net and find all sorts of dumbfuck phanboyz who think that it's 12.8km ... because the official site says so

I wonder if "TIE Fighters are worthless" is a bug. Just because the TIEs don't have shields doesn't make them worthless, I'd rather be in a Fighter with a 4-1 numerical advantage than in a shielded X-Wing with a whole flight on my tail. The Empire doesn't use them on the sole purpose that they are easy to maintain + cheap to build, there has to be something about them that makes TIEs an effective starfighter.
