Depending on the scale and attention to detail, something on the order of 1-10K pieces should do quite nicely.

A to-scale ISD for the 3 3/4" figures would be several city blocks... I'm not sure LEGO scale.

Falcon is call it 25 meters long; ISD is call it 1600 meters, suggesting a ratio of 64:1 length. This thing is 33 inches long, so a to-scale ISD would be 2112 inches long, or about 176 feet. For those of you who use metrics, that would be ~60 meters long. For those of you who use intuitive measurements, that's mighty big.

Close enough, at least. Eyeballing the cockpit and boarding hatch in comparison to the mini-figs, I'd say it's just a little too small, by about 10-15% maybe. The Millennium Falcon is somewhat larger than most people think from impression.

Well, LEGO could make a ISD to scale about as large as they want like that Venator Star Destroyer. I wonder who was the person who bought the damn thing at 40K USD.

Methinks they should put a scaled ISD up at legoland.

Hey lets make an Eclipse or an Excutor to the scale of the the Millennium Falcon. Hey a 1936 foot long or 586 meter long lego, its bigger than the Freedom Tower on its side or the 101 tower!

That's a bit of an understatement; I couldn't get figures on the width of an ESD or SSD, but I have reason to believe that even a scaled-down model like this would be larger than some countries.

OT: Should I be concerned that the first result when searching Wikipedia for "Nimitz" is the class of aircraft carriers, instead of the Admiral?

Well considering that the Nimitz-class CVN has more of an establishment in the here and now, I don't see why not, though I suppose it is disconcerting to find that people are more interested in the ship than the man it was named to honour.

Sorry; since I was abbreviating Eclipse-class Star Dreadnought to ESD, it would have confused matters to abbreviate Executor-class to ESD as well. I would have been referring to an "ESD or ESD", which could have confused matters. Instead, I used the common, if incorrect, term of Super Star Destroyer, which I understood to be about the same as an Executor-class. Mea culpa.

Wait. The Eclipse was only 16km or so long. While that is larger than most small islands, that is still smaller than the average country.

It is possible that scaled down, the Eclipse would be frightfully as large as a Nimitz.

Correct, however, I was referring to "some countries" such as Monaco or the Vatican. And after some actual research, a scaled-down version would only cover most of the Vatican or Monaco, and not all of it.
