Someone please enlighten me!

I don't remember that anywhere, anybody mentioned meters or kilometers, kilogramms ot tons...

So what metric units are used in the SW universe?

General Dodonna indicates that the Death Star exhaust port is measured in metres.

Also, Han Solo made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, which, if not technically SI, is still a known measurement.

Go here for more.

Thanks Robert I forgot the one Dodonna said but it's proof enough for me!

Did anyone notice that in AOTC, the term "parsec" was used repeatedly in the correct use of the term (one of distance)? Yes, I know that Han's statement is explained in the EU, but face it, its original use in ANH was still a screw up.

I don't think it was...ANH doesn't explain what the Kessel Run is, so you can't assume that Han was using the term inappropriately. Add on top of that the fact that the official explanation is very plausible, and you can't really call the line a screw up.

The look on Obi-Wan's face seems to indicate that Han's comment was supposed to sound ludicrous. Either because Obi-Wan considers it too quick a run, or because Obi-Wan sees through the fancy nonsense-speak. (I sometimes give a similar smirk when someone says something equally nonsensical to me.)

Wasn't the range from the AT-ATs to the shield generator on Hoth measured in km?

17.28 km to be exact.

No units were stated, just a number. Because the metric system is used in ANH (and throughout the novels), kilometers are assumed to be the units being used. (And it's most definitely more than 17 meters away...)

Ha. Han's comment fix is probably the most brilliant and graceful continuity/logic fix in all the EU.
