Obi-Wan ESB Quote

Remember the quote in ESB by Obi-Wan Kenobi? "There you will find Yoda, the Jedi Master who instructed me."
Every time I hear this quote I think of a couple of things. First off, we all know Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi was trained by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. Therefore, is this a contradiction of Star Wars canon?
On the other hand Jedi's look at things, "From a certain point of view," and point-of-fact, Obi-Wan was indeed instructed by Master Yoda in the context of his Jedi Temple days and of course being led by him since Master Yoda was the leader of the Jedi Council. What are your thoughts on this matter?

Perhaps Obi-Won was trained at first by Yoda when he was a youngling. Like the kids in AOTC. Then when he grew up to Padawan rank Qui-Gon was appointed to be his teacher.
Mmmm not sure, but that's my best bet.

In Attack of the Clones we see that Yoda trained many children simultaneously, before they went on to become Padawans under a Jedi Knight. That might be what Ben was talking about.
Alternatively, Obi-Wan could have been talking about how Yoda took him on after Qui-Gon's death. Yoda clearly mentored Ob-Wan, as we saw in AotC. If an older person continually gave me valued advice, even if they were not one of my professors or teachers from school, I might say that they had instructed me.
Alternatively, Ben might have been talking about how his relationship with Yoda was that of a powerful Jedi to a less powerful Jedi, or he could have been lying to make Luke more interested. Remember what Obi-Wan believes about the "Truth" from RotJ. It all depends on your point of view.

the scene in AotC where yoda is seen instucting children supports the ESB quote. My guess is that Jedi Council members, being the most experienced, and wisest of the Jedi, are responsible for orientating new recruits. Afterwards, jedi knights take over, giving the padawans field training.

Qui Gon: Keep your thoughts on the here and now.
Obi Wan: But Master Yoda said I should be mindful of the future.

Most of you are saying my exact thoughts. I believe he's referring to the time he was mentored by Master Yoda. I don't exactly believe Master Yoda personally taught him after Master Qui-Gon's death however. At this point the Council bestowed Obi-Wan with the title Jedi Knight, thus seemingly eliminating the need for padawanship.

And since I have no edit button I feel obligated to correct my foolish saying of "padawanship" I should have used the word apprenticeship. There, now I feel much less stupid
