Is it correct that the upcoming live action TV series will be part of the EU?

If so, who are you expecting to see, or who do you want to see?

In fact, what do you want to see in the series?

Will the series be any good, or a flop?

Lucas himself said that it will be catered towards an adult audience, where the plot and characters will be just as driven and as dark as nBSG. If that's really the case, then there are a lot of expectations of quality (it will be hard to replicate the brilliance of nBSG imo, especially if Lucas is writing it). But regardless, being a Star Wars fan I'm expecting some pretty cool things. Especially stuff that is Empire related, we may finally see a bigger picture of the Empire's power on film rather than in books.

Hopefully though it won't be as corny as the prequels were, nor as badly written.

Everything not part of the films, is EU. That goes for everything else, no matter if Lucas is directly involved or not.

My pet peeve with all six films is the relative lack of danger and oppression of the common people. It's heroes and villains and things blowing up from a distance.

If it's true that this series will focus more on the common people fighting, it might be good. At least a good compliment to the movies and their big events.

Everything without an 'Infinities' tag is part of the EU and is official.

We've already seen mentioned that Vader's Apprentice will make an appearence, so I'd like to learn more about him.

I'd like to see the Empire flex it's new muscles and 'pacify' a few planets

That's impossible to determine at this moment as all we've heard so far is: 1. Live-Action, 2. Somewhere between RotS and ANH (That's Twenty Years), and 3. Vader's Apprentice is slated to make an appearence.

I apologize if this offends some nBSG fans out there, but I haven't seen them do anything Industrial Lights & Magic can't beat for Star Wars.

But regardless, being a Star Wars fan I'm expecting some pretty cool things. Especially stuff that is Empire related, we may finally see a bigger picture of the Empire's power on film rather than in books.

Indeed, I just hope that if this is successful, Star Wars won't have the same problems with fans controlling it that Star Trek does, should it be successful and the TV screen is Star Wars' new home.

The 'Prequals' or do you mean TPM and AoTC, because I felt RotS (with the Exception of the Vader 'No') was rather decent, and Jar Jar at least didn't get a speaking line... Oh wait damnit, is G. Lucas' entry in the Colbert Greenscreen Challenge Canon!?

One line, and it seems he's been losing his dialect, remember "Exqueeze me"? :P

Well... at least it was such a minor line that I couldn't remember it.

The only reason why it did seem a little more corney was that the actors don't compare to the likes of the ones in the Original Trilogy. Time and time again Harrison Ford is heard saying that he said "George, you can write it but you can't say it". Alot of the corney, lovey lovey lines that Anakin and Padme say were for line for line. Harrison Ford says that he change the "corney" line of "I love you too" to "I know" when he is carbonized.

The Prequels were corney because the actors weren't as good (im not saying bad (Ewan was great) but they don't compare with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and the late Sir Alec Guiness.)

As for the live action series, I am really looking forward to it. With George Lucas at the helm I have a feeling that it will have the same quality as the original Gene Rodenbury Star Trek and not the post-Gene ones.

The big difference being that Star Wars can never really become like Star Trek. The entire premise is different. There's always a battle and a war involved, either big or small. With Trek, you usually have exploration, first contacts with weird aliens and a relatively peaceful setting. (The Cold War analog was mainly part of TOS and with TNG, you lost even that).
